  1. So its not the city’s or the police department’s fault for you being the victim of violent, repeat offenders that illegally use guns to commit more crimes, it’s the gun manufacturer…
I see this every day. People refuse to take responsibility for things that are their job and try to pass the blame onto someone else.

  2. That’s what I like about you Drew. Your opinions are so… nuanced.

  3. Nuanced ... and correct! This one was so obvious, but we still had to go through the really expensive process to “prove” it. Nonsense. You pass the law, and as part of that law you state “all such pending lawsuits are hearby void”. Bada-freakin-bing.

  4. Now.

How about a lawsuit against the City of New York for damages incurred by the various manufacturers and gun shops as a result of this bogus lawsuit?  Isn’t there some legal action to be taken against an entity that intentionally brings a frivilous suit for the purpose of harassment or inflicting damage?

Some twenty to twenty-five years ago, the people of California recalled a California Supreme Court Chief Justice and two other Justices.  (Google ‘Rose Bird’.) Can this New York judge Weinstein not be recalled?

  5. Jim, no, it’s not the city’s fault.  The SCOTUS has ruled no government can protect all citizens at all times.  This ruling - and it has been repeated several times - is based on Constitutional limits on government and practical application.

What needs be done is the ability of the populace to defend itself from criminals.  In other words, a total and absolute repeal of firearms ownership and possession laws as regards otherwise lawful citizens.

    C’mon SCOTUS regarding Heller!
