  1. Well as the cash machines often lie and under proper english law most percsicuitions would be unsafe (reasonable doubt and all that old fashioned tosh) also a significant number do not comply with the guidlines set out by the assocciation of chiefs of police, but then what do they know. I found a relired gentleman who as a highly qualified engineer went round an timed the .5 second flashes and found none rignt the best was ,6 second and some were nearly one second, this being the back up proof should lend huge doubts about the legality of these methods of extortion, this guy also posted the security film of 3 police officers beating him and nearly killing him!! he had a heart condition and was over 65, that is one reason Im in Canada now, police states suck.
When I had my bodyshop in Cornwall I restored a 1934 Riley and in the paperwork was the paperwork for the endorsement the pervious owner had for doing 103 MPH in a 60!

  2. These cash machines are everywhere now. They also changed the law recently so that it is easier to build up enough points for driving offences to get banned in a singke journey. Their latest wheeze is a camera system set between two points. This will log every number plate at the start and finish of a stretch of road and calculate the average speed. If you have exceeded the speed limit at any point bingo, you get a ticket and three points on your license.

The Tories to their credit have stated they will abolish many of these revenue gatherers. Fortunately Labours days are numbered. The latest scandal, the revelation that the Home Secretaries husband submitted an expenses claim for downloaded “adult” films. I always knew Labour were a bunch of w****rs now we have proof.

  3. I knew a guy who was driving a Corvette at 110 in a 55.

He told the judge “My speedometer was broken”.

    The judge didn’t believe him.

  4. expenses claim for downloaded “adult” films.

Lyndon, you probably don’t get the Torygraph where you are.  But there was an interesting little side note (have not seen it online yet but will check again)about other expenses she claimed. Get this.
88p for a sink strainer. OK sure if it’s legit she’d have a right.  But come on. 88p ???

  5. Peiper I only get the online edition but I read elsewhere that the “strainer” was actually a plug for the sink. She could have bought one in B&Q for under 50p I suspect, but the minmimum amount you can claim on the expense form is 49p so she added it along with her claim for a £350 stone sink and 42” LCD tv at her “second” home. The woman like most of her kind is a greedy hypocrite who is happy to shaft the taxpayer for every last penny. Though as I said her days of snuffling in the trough are numbered. She wont resign though. These people do not possess a moral compass. To them the voters are little people, their only purpose is too keep them in the style they have become accustomed too.
