  1. Drew:
Since I cannot find your contact or e-mail info on this site, I have to post my response here, which is this:  Don’t believe everything you hear.  I am happy you linked to and posted some of my post on Kwame Kilpatrick.  I have never sued anyone or threatened to sue them for posting part of my work.  I have only asked--very kindly--that others do not post my entire writing, as the point is to bring traffic to my site, which is why I put the content there and work so hard on it.

Not sure what you mean by “alarmist,” but I write and report the facts--and many of them should alarm you.  As for what I’ve written about Kwame Kilpatrick and Mike Cox, although I reported them on my Detroit radio show in 2003, a year before the Detroit mainstream media did, anyone who lives in this area and is following the story will tell you that I’m right on the money on this.

  2. Second that from my daughter who spent the first week up there with Grandma - she was very into this mess. He will go down for the lying but the other stuff that just is icing on the oh how can I say this - liberal anything goes agenda running cities, states and our country into the ground cake - is true. What is more scary to me - what will come out after this current mess is ‘tidied’ up?

And tell me, how does this garbage help the ‘black community’ at all? Ever?

  3. I must live under a rock. Even though I am always scanning the internet news sites, and have the TV news on hours a day, I have heard or read very little about this prior to two weeks ago. Detroit news doesn’t seem to make it back East somehow. Ok, let’s keep an eye on this thing, and see where it leads.

  4. Imagine that, I had direct contact with a gen-u-ine Big Author. Email too! I’d better have a cup of tea and a sit down; this is so exciting!

I wrote her back, and I’m hoping we can establish a positive relationship. Her point is valid, and is a good lesson to all our posters: don’t overquote. I know, it’s hard when the article is only a paragraph or three. But try. And we really ought to cite sources on our graphics too. It’s tough telling what is or isn’t Public Domain. This whole “reporting on the reporter’s reports, editorializing the editors” is a new thing for me, so it’s a learning experience. Which means I’ll stub my toes a few times while figuring out how to run.

  5. Drew, you’ll get it. You did a damn fine job on this one! And given me reason to bookmark another site in my computer. On the occasions I’ve used someone elses work as a basis for anything at my place, I’ve always tried to use where I got it from, and comment from there. But yeah, I can see the little “snippet” idea as better. Unless it is just SO good you don’t know where to stop!

  8. Now what ya wanna bet that the folks at Trinity United Church of Christ are claiming “the White Man(tm) is persecuting him”?

  9. I live in the Northern ‘burbs of Detroit. This story has been in the news for a while, but it didn’t start getting national play until the last couple of days. But being a typical white guy (tm), I’m not really interested in what happens in Detroit.
I’d heard about the text messages, the affair, and the cops being fired & paid off.. but the hookers being killed was new to me.
