I caught the name - but decided to be a real American - and not point it out nor question it. Glad to read in Ms Geller’s article that he has been placed on administrative leave - as the CYA bs the Police Chief spewed, sounded like dog killer cop was going to skate.
I guess it is a good thing that videos and stories about thug cops get posted on the Internet.
Chris that’s the point I saw immediately and added to your post, to which you objected. While Wardmama is taking the better approach, I have no doubts at all that his culture’s bias made the situation worst. Like the UK, we are a nation of dog lovers.
It’s not really the better approach - I just wanted to be sure of what my gut was saying before I posted it publicly. I see my guts are still right on.
Actually Drew - according to Animal Planet - cats outnumber dogs in American homes right now.
The story however, still disgusts me - there was no reason what-so-ever for this to happen. We have a neighbor with barking dogs (at first they did not let them into the house) - the neighbors complained a lot - to them. I was considering the Bark Off - as it supposedly works. I like them, they are a nice young couple - and they’ve fixed the house up (former owners were welfare moms and their spawn who got foreclosed on - ironically after one of them got a real job) and they have had job problems too. Still we all never called the police. And no one has shot any of the dogs. Even though one of them seems to be 10 times more vicious than the 2 in the video appear to be.
Yes, at the very least Hassani is the result of a cultural bias even if he isn’t Moslem. However, I haven’t found any articles outside of Ms. Gellar’s that claim Hassani is a Moslem.
It happens that I’ve known a Lebanese Christian. Also two of my local tobacconists are Syrian Christians. While I’d expect the cultural bias regardless of his religion, I also know that especially here in the U.S. there are a lot of Arabs who are Christian. The Syriac and Coptic Churches in particular date back to the Apostles.
So, for now I’m content to merely condemn Hassani for being an out of control cop who should have his gun and badge taken away. I don’t want someone like him walking around with a gun. There are honest thugs I actually trust more.
