  1. Hey our psychotic kitty has been neutered ever since he hit the animal shelter (God only knows how long that was before we rescued him from his 2nd (known) home. And he goes downstairs almost every morning and plants himself between the water bowl and kibble tower - and screams bloody murder. There is always some kibble in the tower - because dumbo kitty litter who know how to get the kibble out of the rolly balls (afternoon treat a couple of times a week) and they both KNOW that the ‘black box’ is rife with the nip (it ‘marinates’ the toys in the nip). Yet, neither seems to remember that all they have to do is reach in and/or knock the tower and kibble will fall out. We spritz him with h2o - so now he is taking to nipping me - if he thinks I’m ignoring him.

There is no winning with them.

Look for a low cost/no cost neuter - unless you have a decent vet. In Fl in the 80s - I paid $165 for a spay. No more - especially when Dr. Jeff (Rocky Mountain Vet, Animal Planet) said that they get a sheet of what to charge for what care, vaccination or surgery. He thinks that is terrible - because even poor people care and love their animals.

All the systems are rigged against us - as I said - there is no winning with them (politicians - the worst kind of animal).

  2. We can use our vet for $250, or go to one of these assembly line puppy mill chop shop places and get the job done for $50. Our vet will do a far more professionally surgical job, with assistants and a hydration drip and even an animal anesthesiologist, with a full day of post operative care. It just costs 5x as much.
