We had an Indiana Lottery employee who told his buddy where the $Million scratch-off winner was being sold. Dumbass buddy went into a small gas station in Bumfuck Indiana and casually bought $700 worth of tickets.
The 50-something-year-old employee lost his $50K job, plus prosecution of both of them.
Being a crook - bad. Being a dumb crook—worse. Being an old dumb crook—worst.
In 1971, while I was in college, I got on fairly good terms with at least one instructor, and during one of our conversations, the subject of tenure came up. This instructor’s definition of tenure was (I kid you not), “involuntary commitment insurance.”
