I don’t totally agree. The last time I flew Luftwaffe Lufthansa, the service was great and they showed us early-morning piss-call isometrics we could do in our seats to stretch and work out the kinks.
Here’s an interesting passage from that article:
“I have never experienced such security,” Wolfgang Herber, a police officer on duty in Mainz, told broadcaster ARD. Herber helped protect former U.S. President Ronald Reagan on a visit to Germany in 1985.
And THAT was before 9/11.
I think it’d be interesting to find out if, when other world leaders come here to the United States, we afford them the same security courtesies we ask from them for our President.
The answer is YES. We give visiting dignitaries the sme lvel of protection we demand commensurate with the level of threat posed by the country being visited.
The risk of a foreign visitor being killed here is less simply because many Americans could give a fuck less about them. After all, they’re not the king of the hill like we are.
But Germany, Spain, France is infested with Muslim and other wack jobs intent on sowing hate, discontent and disruption. Remember Beider-Meinhoff? ETA? and others?
