Two Gaps, One Closed

I took my wife bowling at the VA. Yes, I’m a patient at the VA so I can do that. The VA bowling alley only has six lanes, but they are almost always free of bowlers. I told my wife ‘I haven’t bowled since my Navy days’ and proceeded to bowl a strike on the first ball.
My wife said ‘Right!’ and proceeded to bowl a strike on her first ball herself.
Gotta watch my wife–she shows unexpected talents and abilities. She almost beat me that first game. As it was, it went something like 200-198. I won, barely. The good news is that she wants to go back! Which I will certainly do; anything that we can do together I’ll do. I don’t care if she beats me.
