I pictured a different kind of pearl necklace in my mind but this is a family blog sooooo,,,,,,,,
I tend not to be very impressed by the makeup, the lighting, etc.... you know, the trappings. There’s probably a really beautiful woman under all that, but if she’s only sort of pretty you’d never know after all the technicians got through with her.

I was a stagehand for too long, I’ve seen how shabby the set looks from the back, and I know what wonders can be worked with tape and paint. The illusion may be fun to look at, but once you’ve come to terms with the fact that it’s all illusion, the reality hidden underneath becomes where the real beauty hides and the facade becomes mostly just a distraction.
