  1. Thanks for posting on the treason topic.  We couldn’t get trackbacks to work on your site tonight, so I’m posting the link here on RightLinx if that is okay.

  2. Sure, McCain. That’s OK. I’m just glad to see others pointing out this idiot’s crime.

  4. Can you imagine how much the mice in Washington must have squirmed and sweated before finally steeling themselves to this point?

This should have happened LONG ago, and should be only one case in a very long line.  And now maybe we’ll get to some of the others, now that the timorous ones have trembled themselves this far along the road to sanity.

    cool mad

  5. Let’s not waste time, manpower and taxpayers’ money with a public televised courtroom trial, once this ratbag gets captured, a “field expedient” summary court-martial and a bullet or a rope served up immediately afterwards will be sufficient to get the job done, and to make it perfectly clear to other would-be traitors and terrorists, that there is no room for them on this planet. F*ck the ACLU, Amnesia International and the rest of the self-proclaimed “human rights” ignoranuses, this is a case which requires swift and sure justice.

I’m even willing to donate a box of the required ammunition to the US military, just to see this one through.

  6. Anon: your Prozac has worn off. Time to take another pill. “Short term party benefit” is a description the Democrats own, buddy. Remember, it was Carter who got us into that mess in Iran.

As for October surprise, your tinfoil conspiracy theories hold no water. The only “surprises” I have seen so far this election season have come from Democrats who had knowledge of Foley for months and held it until now as well as other neat little rabbits they have pulled out of their hat so far.

As for providing weapons to the enemy, read Ann Coulter’s editorial above this post and ponder what punishment Bill Clinton should receive for bribing North Korea in 1995 with $5.5 million AND BUILDING TWO NUCLEAR REACTORS FOR THEM as part of the DEAL.

THAT is TREASON. When does CLINTON’S trial begin?

  7. "Wingnut”? “Fact free zone”?

Identified as Tokyo Rose by the press after the war, she was detained for a year by U.S. military before they decided she had not committed a crime worth prosecuting. Upon return to the U.S., the Federal Bureau of Investigation charged her with eight counts of treason. Her 1949 trial resulted in a conviction on one count, making her the seventh American to be convicted of treason. In 1974, investigative journalists found that key witnesses had lied during testimony and other serious problems with the conduct of the trial. She was pardoned by U.S. President Gerald Ford, becoming the only US citizen convicted of treason to later be pardoned.

    So what’s your point, pinhead?

Posted by The Skipper    United States   10/12/2006  at  10:03 AM

  8. I will try not to change the subject if you will stop trying to obfuscate the issue with false accusations of treason. Let us first examine the definition of treason:

Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court.

    - US Constitution, Article III, Section 3

That’s pretty simple isn’t it? The key part of that is the use of phrases like “levying war against them” and “enemies”.

You entire argument falls apart on the contention that the US and Iran were either at war with each other or they had been declared to be our enemies. To the best of my recollection, war was never declared or even implied by the US government at the time and that includes the Carter administration. If Iran was truly our enemy why didn’t Carter go to Congress and get a declaration of war or at the very least get permission to take action against them as President Bush did in 2001? The Reagan administration also somehow failed to declare them to be enemies of the US and/or declare war on them.

There are many countries that could possibly be construed to be our “enemy” but until a formal declaration of war or imminent military action is issued these coutries remain what I term simply “adversaries” in the global game of realpolitik.

I also disagree with your assessment of the reasons for the fall of the Shah and the Islamic Revolution in Iran. US policy had indeed been to support the Shah with good reason - he was our strongest ally in the region and Iran was the only Middle Eastern country with a progressive society more closely aligned with the West than with the brewing Islamic movement. Carter was the first US President to place human rights abuses over political engagement. His concern over reports of the Shah’s secret police led him to believe Iran would be better off without the Shah. That was an incredibly bad decision as Iran now has an even more repressive theocracy in charge. I’m sure even you will admit that.

I’ll avoid further discussion of North Korea since you seem to think I am changing the subject with that. As for Foley, check your sources. Especially as to where the story leaked from. Look it up if you can find the time in your Left-wingnut schedule.

    LOL

  9. Benedict Arnold? Splendid chap! They should treat this asswipe the way Britain dealt with William Joyce aka Lord Haw Haw. A length of rope and a six foot drop. That or give him a lifetime in some Federal Penn where “Bubba” can get a new girfriend!

Posted by LyndonB    United Kingdom   10/12/2006  at  12:22 PM

  10. Oh please, Anon. You grow tiresome. Don’t harass someone because of their avatar. You don’t know any of us here personally and you “neo-Nazi” flame is totally uncalled-for. Must people like you always resort to ad hominem attacks?

Yes, I agree that D’Aquino was unjustly accused. That is why Gerald Ford pardoned her. I still fail to see your point and I am glad you are not comapring her to “Azzam” who has declared his guilt in televised messages.

WHACKED? Please. There is no need to make this a personal conflict ... or is there? I still stand by my original position: if Iran was our “enemy” and we were in a state of war, why didn’t anyone tell us ... or the Iranians? You might be the last person on Earth who still thinks Carter did a world of good for the US with his abandoning the Shah. History bespeaks your ignorance.

Now pay attention and keep it rational. I’m sure you can have a civilized discourse if you really try. Come on. Give it a try. People generally only attack with the venom you’re exhibiting when they’re afraid of someone or something. Why are you so frightened of people like us who simply disagree with you?

    question

  11. Not a problem, Anon #3. Yes, I know there are three of you today, two in Northern Virginia and one in Toledo, Ohio. There is no confusion here. I suspect some of you have been here before because the IP addresses look somewhat familiar. But that’s irrelevant. You choose to remain anonymous by your own decision. Creating an account is easy, takes about five minutes and with cookies enabled you only need to login once. How lazy can you be? The login requirement is not to keep people with differing opinions out - it is solely there to stop spammers.

So far, I have assumed absolutely nothing about any of you other than the fact that you have a real problem with someone being accused of treason and each of you, by your own words, gives the impression of being anti-Bush liberals. If I am wrong, I apologize.

As for Tokyo Rose, she was a traitor in the tradition of Benedict Arnold. The person convicted however, was not Tokyo Rose. We both knew that from the beginning of this dialogue. I still fail to see how that relates to Azzam. Or was this just a chance for you to go off on a topic that is dear to you for some reason?

As for avatars, it’s just a fun way of identifying each other. I am no bear and never served in the Navy, having spent my military career in the US Air Force. Read into it what you will but name-calling is verboten unless it is in jest. You were jesting, weren’t you?

As for my political adversaries being terrorist sympathizers, I judge them by their actions. If they consort with the “enemy”, try to twist events to make the terorists out to be the “good guys”, aka “freedom fighters”, publicly try to discourage the populace from supporting our own defense in this time of trial and/or attempt to obstruct security procedures and measures put in place to protect you and I from terrorist attacks then I have to assume they are sympathetic to the terorists’ cause and deserve not only my condemnation but that of every other citizen who believes in staying alive.

So which one of you three will reply this time?

    LOL

Can I nominate Jane Fonda next? Pretty please? The evidence is pretty clear too.

  14. “Well, you’ll have to include George Bush Sr. and Dick Cheney as co-defendants for
also practicing the non-manly art of diplomacy with North Korea as well.”

Tell us what happens if “manly art” is taken.  Invade Iraq and catch hell from the libs for political gain ever since.  The biggest problem our country has is that of the chickens and the greedy.

Tokyo Rose was not a traitor?  Are you saying that had she not delayed the war that we would not have lost so many of our fathers and brothers?

I think, anon, (select yourselves) that you’re driven by hate caused by election loses.

  15. I got the rope and a big oak out back. Gadahn, the staff of the NY Times, Ted Turner and the long list of those who put our enemies and or politics in front of our young men and women serving in harms way. Lets keep it simple...there are those who wish for bad things to happen to the US for political or personal gain, they are f’ing traitors!  flag

  16. The dough boy, fuck what happend then, and the japs went on to make good, cars tvs watches small things that light up ect ect ect, was it the two big bangs that woke them up ? dough boy on the other hand aint got a clue, and he welcomes any type of bang.get a picture peterUK, you look like the (who is the gay football player) news of the world type at the moment, grin are you an Arsenal fan?

Posted by bulldog    United Kingdom   10/12/2006  at  06:14 PM

  17. So screw the Tokyo Rose crap.  She’s dead.  Ford pardoned her.  So who gives a shit?  The indicting of A.G. on treason charges doesn’t faze me one way or another.  We’ve got news organs (think of the grey whore wasting both paper and ink) and reporters who daily provide aid and comfort, provide classified information (some rated above top secret), and who actively demoralize our troops.  A.G. is a small fish.  Time to go after the much bigger fish.

  18. Skipper, if what I have read here is any indication of the intrinsic worth of these three trolls, you might as well be gang-tackled by specimens you might otherwise find crawling up the walls of public urinals.

However, I do regret that one of them chose my avatar (the Kriegsflagge of the Kaiserliche Marine, i.e., the Navy of the German Empire) as an excuse to bring down the tone of this thread.  I would cite a certain malice, but that happens to be self-evident; and furthermore, I will not abandon the disposition of a gentleman merely for the sake of lucubratious philistines and their petty motives.  Those, I am certain, smell on their own account.

For the sake of clarity, however, I will permit myself this observation.  Even in this half-educated age, I should have imagined that any half-wit would have noticed that no swastika appears in my avatar flag.  And, as we all should know, the swastika was THE distinguishing insignia of the Third Reich and all things pertaining thereunto.

But I always tend to take the charitable view.  Tch!  Such a weakness!

  20. Truth is to rabid liberalism what sunlight is to a vampire.  Don’t let the trolls pull the argument off track.  They win when the argument gets derailed.  Hammer the point home again and again.

PeterUK, I am sorry if you received a “challenging” welcome. Try not to let it color your opinion of us. Oh, and if you notice someone running around going “Bark! Bark!”, that’s just RickVid. He’s had all his shots and is safe.

To all the other “anonymouses” ... come back any time. The bar is always open. But if you call Tannenberg a “neo-Nazi” again one of us will beat you severely about the ears.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled program ... already in progress.
