1. If you think that’s cool, you should see footage of the Comanche Helicopters. Too bad the army pulled the plug on them. Something about a helicopter that can freely turn on it’s axis while moving in a straight line is just absolutely cool.

4. Only one thing bothers me though… combat payload is 1/4 that of the A10 warthog (lightning II). 5000 lb doesn’t seem like much for the role it is supposed to play.

5. As for the comanche, the reason it got axed is because it made no sense.

   It was an absoflippinlutely awesome helicopter, that served no practical purpose. Sure it could win a dogfight with any helicopter you put it up against. Which would happen… never?
