I don’t understand #10; transfers to whom?
The question is not that these items are being made - we can question each as to whether it is the job of the Feds to subsidise these things. The issue is that they are mixed into such an important bill and that for utterly political reasons. W has to veto the bill and, when money gets tight for the soldiers, the Dhimmies will point at W and accuse him of not supporting the troops. What vile wretched vermin they are!

Question.... this crap is passed by the Congress, but who actually spends the money? Seems like most of this stuff would actually be done by the Executive branch, through it’s various acronym-laden agencies. So, what’s to keep W from simply vetoing the pork by not spending the money? Outside of a stones shortage that is.
Having worked in finance in the military, I can answer your question, JimS. Every penny allocated has something attached to it called a Disbursement Accounting Number. This number has to be used on all requisition orders and purchase orders. No Acct. Number, no buy. In addition, if all funds are not spent from each account, the funds are reduced for that account in next year’s budget automagically. That is why government agencies rush to spend all their dough before the September 30 deadline (End of fiscal year). It is also why government never gets less expensive. Sad, but true.
#10 says the Senate is going to skim the profit from the holiday gift shop to pay for other things - like convention balloons.

Are you kidding? Those are special ornaments licensed by the Senate and most of them carved in Waterford crystal. The cheapest ones go for $500. I’d say we’re talking about half a million at least. The only question is where does the money wind up? I wish someone would answer that one.
I get it now - guys we are missing a vital point here. In addition to bribing Congress with pork (so much for the overwhelming majority crappola). And in addition to embaressing the President (who we know will veto this trash ‘bill’). And also in addition to ‘making a statement’ about OIF(because we know that they don’t have the votes nor the guts to actually defund OIF which is really all the power they REALLY have in this issue). . . they have also managed to figure out a way to increase the budget behind an acceptable ‘front bill’ while a few days later ‘presenting’ to the American people a ‘balanced’ budget - walla they automatically cover all the real estate of ‘perfect politician’ and can throw most of the blame onto President Bush (with help from their mouthpiece, the media). . .
It would be an ingenious plan if it did not screw the President, the Troops, the Iraqis, the Free World and endanger the Troops and the American people.
We need to stop these people NOW.
