  1. A most excellent find Peiper. I’m a bit behind the curve on my Aegypt stuff lately. Hell, I’m behind the curve on everything right now!

And as much as I’d love to spend the rest of the day looking into this, I have to do loads of Xmas shopping today. I’ll spend some time with it after the holidays.

This Iya Maat - instant hero to every tradesman and builder all over the world. I don’t know what the inscriptions on his tomb read, but they should say “hey, you see that pyramid over there? Yeah, the big one, right? I built that.” And 4300 years later, it still stands.
He lived around 10 generations or so after old Imhotep, but gosh; to have lived in that world at that time. Amazing.

Of course, BMEWS has an interest in pyramids of all kinds, old and new, because of our far older and more serious sister acronym BMEWS who has pyramids of her own.

  2. now that’s a pyramid! Chilling.
Ah, so the govt. BMEWS, stole it from Skipper. lol

Don’t you find it awesome that somehow these things are still being uncovered.  I have never been able to quite understand how they figured out the code to be able to read that stuff.  How can they be certain?  It sure holds my interest.

How was it possible for a civilization like that and others that had so much in the way of engineering and I have read some medical advances as well, what causes the decline to be so severe?

  3. Fascinating find, I must say. So NOW we know where they stuffed the bureaucrats from the Memphis Court during the Old Kingdom. Not a bad find. Not a bad find at all.
