Told ya so!

What a sick culture we have become.

  1. Not so sure I wholeheartedly agree with you Drew. I’m not quite ready to judge society based on what the MSM chooses to report and not report.  We all know how the media operates, they get a story juicy enough, they’ll ride the wave for a few days and exploit the shit out of it.

I would say that we are a nation of rubberneckers.  Very few of us can’t help but look at the accident scene when come upon it. Some people take a peek and move on, others take a longer harder look at it, thats all.

  2. Really Drew458, I think you have a pretty good idea what this is all about, attention.  And you have managed to use this yourself right on this site.  Now I’m not judging you, and I do enjoy your posts....for the most part.  I think the more interesting aspect of this whole thing is the prostitute (notice I don’t refer to her with a persons name) and her willingness to cash in on this.  If she really was a decent person, she would try to slip away and not be brought into the limelight, but then again one only needs to see where she was coming from with this from the beginning....A rich man’s whore.

  3. Better a rich man’s whore than a poor man’s? I’m just blown away that she - Ok, her “music” - has made a million dollars, literally overnight. A million dollars!!!!!!!11!!!!!!1 That’s an entire career’s income at a decent $50,000 salary! Why feel shame and slink away? There is no shame when fortune comes a callin’. What for?

and yeah, I’m looking to stir things up with this post. I’m looking for an actual discussion. So disagree with me, it’s cool.

A whore one day. The lowest, most demeaning, most sexist job a woman can do. Total objectification. Next day, a media star and a millionaire. Go figure. Hmmm, do you really think she’s retired? Maybe she liked being a whore ... she’s got to be worth “7 diamonds” these days.

    Pontificate!!

  4. Beats me why things like this work this way.  Personally, I’m sick of this opportunistic bimbo already.

Bring back women of substance… Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton, for instance.

  5. heldmyw, I very nearly coated my monitor with coffee after reading that.

Drew, my feeling is that she’s out on the prowl, but not necessarily for money, per se.  She’s supposedly in line for a record contract, and the ever-ready Larry Flynt has offered her a mil to pose in Hustler.  I think she’ll wind up with Hef’s publication, myself.  She’s got too many tattoos for me.

  6. I sense a two for three deal coming her way soon.............two criminals caught in the act, worth about three million in her back pocket. Sounds alot like Andrew Dice Clay’s Jack and Jill went up the Hill!

  7. Always seemed funny to me that the oldest profession was always considered so despicable.  Guys, we keep them in business.  Here we have the professional creme de la creme, far fancier and richer than almost any of us will ever see (or sleep with).  Who wants to bet that eventually she winds up marrying someone rich and legitimate?
    nah-nah
Now, in the tradition begun by “Hot Toddy” 80 years ago, we have the next to find fame and fortune through a lack of what are called morals.  She may change her ideas later, but that’s where she is today.  As opposed to Thelma Todd, her fame is likely to be a bit fleeting, just like everyone else who has profited by being associated with something lurid.  Fifteen minutes of fame followed by a large bank account and oblivion.  She chose to do what she did for money and a fancy lifestyle.  Now she’s gotten the brass ring by getting caught with a political heavyweight and she’s cashing in on it.  That’s the American Way!

  8. I’m not gonna comment on the morality or lack thereof of hookers, beyond noting that if they weren’t somewhat opportunistic they wouldn’t *willingly* be in that profession. However, the same can be said of many salesmen and entrepreneurs in the world. They have the attitude that hey, if someone’s dumb enough to pay me to sell it to em, I’m IN, *whatever* the product is.
I will, however, note that I can’t help thinking the entire idea is somewhat dumb. There is no amount of legislation, custom, nor moral pressure that has ever, nor I believe WILL ever, make a real dent in the market for prostitution. And as long as such an unkillable market exists, there WILL be someone ready to make a profit from it. Fate dropped one hell of a moneymaking opportunity right in to her lap.... or at least thereabouts… and I’m not surprised that she took advantage of it.

I do find it more than a little sad that it actually qualifies as being newsworthy, though. Not because of what that says about the news industry, but what that says about the people who make up their market.

  9. GoF, that’s getting towards the point I was trying to make. If we accept that such “sales” are always going to go on, then make such transactions legitimate. This then becomes less newsworthy than buying some broccolli at the grocery store.

If we, as a society, don’t want to legitimize this activity, then it should not recieve such prurient fanfare. Shunning was the old time response. That might be a bit extreme these days, but it’s a far sight better than having the near-exclusive focus of the world wide media spotlight for several days.

This whole instant fortune story has got to be really annoying to every woman who slogged her way through to get a good education, landed a decent job and put in years of effort. I can’t buy the Prostitution Is Empowerment meme. Hitting the Life Lottery because of it has to really sting. I should check out what NOW, Tammy Bruce, etc., have to say.

  10. Sorry if I channel The Who here for a moment…

    ‘She’s not a girl...she’s a whore!’

What?! Those aren’t the correct lyrics?! DAMN.

  11. The fiberal msm wants to define this garbage as ‘news’ because it fits their agenda - make everyone (yeah, right) think that ‘everyone’ does it (lie, cheat, steal, breaks laws, be immoral or even for that matter amoral) and -gasp- make big bucks doing it. . .Eventually the fiberal msm thinks that ‘everyone’ will be stupid (thinking that a politician paying for a hooker is ‘news’) and immoral and amoral and alas Big Government will step in to pay for your ‘free’ healthcare (which they control the availibility and of course free education (which they control the content) - because morons can’t do any of it themselves - which then Big Government has to ‘provide’ the jobs because morons can’t get a real job, and then it becomes Big Governments job to tell everyone what is ‘Right’ and what is ‘Wrong’ and then guess what - Everyone is a slave of Big Brother wondering how the hell everyone got to this point.

ENOUGH - common sense - cut taxes, cut government, make the People decide what the pay is for Public Servants, term limits - the majority of jobs have a upper end limit - why not Congresscritters (oh yeah, I forgot it’s UN Constitutional to tell them to get out), if you break a law - you go to jail, pay a fine or do community service - no ifs ands or buts about it - from the youngest of the young to the highest politician. . .(and no I’m not worried that GWB would be Impeached because if the foaming at the mouth BDSers had the least little iota of legal proof he’d committed a real crime - he’d been tarred, feathered, humiliated and in a jail that would make Gitmo look like Club Med by now. And they all know that’s true too, if they could stop foaming long enough for a coherant thought). . .

But no the immature, make love not work and accept no personal responsiblity for anything fiberals, dems and their assorted kooks, nuts and truthers are going to push so far that the World will indeed become the OneGlowBallWorld(War) that they are imagining and then those who have guts, courage and backbone who actually can shoot straight and work hard for a living will set it back up and run things until once again the anything goes crowd gets a foothold into the system and f***s it up again.

Never forget that the two reasons we are here are:
Those who do not study history are doomed to repeat it
    and
The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.

    /rant over/

Back to the Topic at hand - Yes, she made a million but as proven by her ‘music’ career - she isn’t going to do a damn thing worthwhile with it and will be back into the gutter sooner than later. Remember any of the ‘girls’ who made a buck off their ‘relationships’ with the high and mighty? Where are they now? Which is even more proof that this isn’t ‘news’. And we all played the game - just like good ‘everyones’ should.
