  3. The lottery a tax on people who are poor at math and know nothing about probabilites, You have a better chance of getting stuck by lightning indoors when there is not a cloud in the sky than winning the lottery.

  5. The big jackpots is what draws all the people who “never play the lotto”. When they see something north of 100 million they change their minds and take a flier.

I like gambling but I have a few rules for myself: Take only what I can afford to lose. Make sure I have a way home and NEVER take a credit card.

I’ve seen the “fever” hit people and it ain’t pretty. Went with a friend once and she started on the quarter slots. By the time we were leaving she was bunging her last $100 bill into a $25 slot machine. I mean, who would want to go home with any money? rolleyes

  6. EBay’s profit soars, but stock declines 5.7%

Online trading company eBay on Wednesday reported another strong quarter, with profit surging 40 percent, but investors worried about its outlook for future quarters and drove down its stock in after-hours trading.

Remember my post about how market prices move in the direction of change in expectations?
