  1. Peiper:

Why would you think that would upset me? Hell, just the opposite: I’m FLATTERED.

And I finally get a H/T of my own!

However, on the topic itself, I really can’t say I’m surprised anymore, and I believe that things will probably get far worse before they get better.

Unfortunately, the time in which to do that U-turn seems to be vanishing at a disturbing rate.

    This will be ugly.

  2. I am beginning to think it is purposeful - not in the way that is so damn obvious - the ‘anything goes’ mentality - but rather what happens when this ‘way of life’ becomes untenable? That’s right good people the ‘crackdown’ to bring control back - these people are nothing but insidious and evil. Give people enough rope to hang themselves and the ‘anything goes’ left/liberal/dem is just waiting for the right time to hang us. The ‘go-along to get along’ spineless Repubs and the silenced into racist, bigoted, sexist, homophobe (NOT) conservatives have not simply spoken pure fact and truth - too many times they allowed themselves to be guilted, shamed, and intimidated into silence and then the culture took a huge step into depravity.

And now with the 3 Arms of Government the hypocritical, lying through their teeth, bigoted, racist, sexist, homophobe Dems are going to stomp We The People down ‘for our own good.’ Too bad the majority of this country weren’t ‘go along to get along’ at all and had been pushing (some) of their ‘representatives’ to do something all along and aren’t going to go quietly into that dark chasm of tyranny. And of course God struck down their most egregious Lion at just the damn wrong moment and even though they tried to tie their hopeful final un-Constitutional takeover on his memory back - it isn’t working.

Used to be we’d take kids like this away from their parents and lock them up and send their parents to jail - now we just give them more taxpayer funds, hoping that if they can move up into a nicer council house or buy a new car or tv that they will leave us the hell alone and when they do go on a rampage - we at least know, it won’t be in our neighborhood. Hell of a way to run a society.

Scared to call a spade a spade or imprison the most dangerous among us.

  3. A society that is subdued by its insatiable lust for pleasure reveling in ignorance of the greater machinations, and the other sees knowledge be washed out for the public good. Both seem to be edging into the realm of reality at a disturbing rate. I mean, they might not have begun to burn books and much on TV is educational, but take a look at what direction the content is going:
    Turtler

Turtler and I have had many differences, but this isn’t (yet) one of them.

They may not have begun to burn the books yet, but that is not necessary. All you have to do is leave the books unread.

I, however, have an ‘insatiable lust’ for the pleasure of reading books.

    Even worse, I haveā€¦ a library card!

    Oh, imagine the reveling!
