  1. As an owner of not one, but TWO SUVs, and a MiniVan, and a Gas-Guzzlin’ honkin’ RV (which I absolutely LOVE driving, even though it gets about 8 MPG,) AND a frequent flyer I got just two words for these hippies - the second of which is “Off!”.

    Capish?

    Mind yer own friggin business!

  2. I think its funny! Good luck enforcing it though.

  3. mooning

WTF? No seriously, wtf? Where does a company get off even THINKING about putting crap like that in the EULA? Piss on ‘em.

  4. Bruce Tinsley put it well in his 7/28/07 Mallard Fillmore strip: “I bike or walk most places I go...I only put 5,000 miles per year on my truck.  The difference between me and “Greens” is...I don’t want legislation forcing everyone to do what I do...”

Back in the day when I was known as a radical, the people behind the dictionary would have been dismissed as “limousine liberals” at best and more likely described as “pigsh*t liberals”.  Trust me, they have nothing whatsoever to do with the “do your own thing” spirit of the Hippies.  They’re just another kind of wacked out neofascist, the very antithesis of freedom.

  5. Becoming more distrusting and suspicious each and every day - I wonder how this wunderkind intends on verifying the conditions of the EULA and then makes me very scared of exactly what this wanna be hippie neofascist would do to (phone home, spyware etc) to accomplish it.

I am really about to cancel everything as even my cookbook book club had ‘green’ how to books this month - talk about indoctrination, propaganda and Big Brother gone mad - I guess I will go back to not paying to encourage these freaks any more than they already are.

Sad - I really loved to drool over my cookbook choices each month. Oh well - there is always the library. And that doesn’t cost me at all.

  7. What an Idiot! Oh sorry, Moron! Oh sorry commie environazi!
Is he related to the Goreacle?

Last weekend I went out in my friend’s 29 foot DONZI speedboat in Seattle WA and offended a fleet of envio-friendly electric rental boats on Lake Union on our way to Lake Washington where we burned lots of gas at 70mph. He is planning on supercharging both of the 350’s to get 1000hp and then he should see 90mph and and will be even happier offending the Seattle liberals (which make up about 90% of the city)that much more!

  8. Good for you, Paul!

Back in the late ‘80’s, several of us on a powerboat managed to offend a group of Greenpeace wieners on the Cumberland River (Greenpeace came in in a powered wooden ‘sailboat’ to protest Opryland’s use of River Taxis, which they deemed to throw up too much of a wake for the riverbanks to handle...they were right, but still...)

I got on a kneeboard, and ran it alongside them, within inches of their hull, throwing a long stream of spray all their boat...causing them to get on a bullhorn and shout “YOU GUYS! STOP THAT! WE ARE VIDEOTAPING YOU” (in a French accent, of course...)

Man, I would pay for that video clip right about now…

  9. "Most computer users are responsible for far more emissions than is sustainable.”
Pardon me? I’m surprised that no one else pointed out this one… It is a spurious statement and the author of this EULA states NO evidence for it. Last time I checked, and for years (15 at least) I have seen the ‘green’ power statement on the BIOS screen…
I may as well make the statement “Most protesters are responsible for far more emissions than is sustainable.” I offer no proof, but somehow, it becomes true if I put it in a EULA for a chunk of blackmail ware..
I pay no attention to this tripe. His heart is in the right place, but if we keep excusing them away like that, they propagate. They’re being trendy, in most cases, and as long as they are ignored, more join their masses.

Anyhow, in the last 30 years, in my experience, “most computer users” are between the ages of 12 and 25, own small 4 cylinder cars, if they are old enough to drive, and still live at home, or are going to school. They spend a LOT of time on said computers, instead of driving around in their SUVs (if they own one) and if they drive, it’s usually to work, school or a destination, not just cruising for fun, as it is too expensive for these people who don’t really make enough for the gas to just buzz around.

Oh, and serr8d, If you know enough detail, you may be able to get a copy of that video from GP from their public relations dept. Even though the camera may not have had any tape in it, or they may have taped over it, if you are polite. You may have to make a donation, or maybe stand on your head saying “Nukes are Nasty” for 10 minutes.. I don’t know how valuable a copy would be for you smile

    Anyhoo, just a comment..
    Bill

  10. How the heck would they find out if we owned SUVs or how often we flew?
