To call it ‘war’ makes soldiers of terrorists

  1. I don’t like it; it sounds craven. But they do have a point. Sort of. So, instead of saying “war on terror” they should say “vermin eradication program” or “spreading God’s cleansing fires” or something far meaner, dehumanizing, and fear evoking. The label has to be totally ferocious to get the message out. Using some non-offensive namby-pamby corporate doublespeak slogan will only further weaken the image of the “strong horse”.

  4. Why they didn’t call the operation against the Taliban in 2001 “Operation Terrible Swift Sword” I’ll never know. Well at least the name is still open for use.
