Jimmy crack corn and I don’t care
People die every day and I don’t care
The worlds on fire and I don’t care
Now bring me another Beer.
It still boggles my mind - when 99% of the people in a home ‘manage’ to get out but helpless children are left.
As Drew pointed out - too much is left out of the article to discern what really happened and why these kids died. But given the numbers of children involved (both rescued and dead) - once again - too many adults seemed to be more concerned about their own lives than those of their kids.
And how is that the fault of any one else?
Most people refuse to acknowledge and adjust for the true motto of all emergency services: “When seconds count, we’re just minutes away”.
When it comes to emergencies government still acts like a nanny - one who doesn’t live with you. It’s time for everybody to resume (or acquire for the first time) personal responsibility.
