Tightening The Border

  1. Keep the pressure on, folks. I tweak my Congresscritter at least once a week with a short, polite email about stopping illegal immigration.

I’m not foolish enough to believe that he reads it personally, but some staffer will tote it up on the scoreboard.

Subscribe to your Congresscritter’s weekly email news bulletin, if they have one. It helps me remember to tweak mine from time to time.

  2. Every time a story comes up about controlling immigration we only seem to hear from the moonbats. The media has an obvious bias on this issue. I don’t really understand why the politicians are so worried about it. In Britain back in the sixties a prominent Tory MP made a speech that effectively ruined his career. He claimed that the number of immigrants coming to Britain would in the long run lead to bloodshed. He also stated that they would use the law against the native population.

The result of uncontrolled immigration was bomb attacks by the offspring of these immigrants against the country that welcomed their parents. Along with, for example, a ban on anything pig related by a council, children wearing body bag Taliban style clothing to school as their human rights etc. etc. ad nauseum.

You would think the politicians would see how much anger there is in the population at large but apparently not. It seems at least in Britain they are more worried about keeping the ethnic voter base sweet. I fail to see the problem in expedited removals. I am also at a loss to know why these people are entitled to see a judge before removal. If they want to appeal the decision let them do it from across the border at their expense. Why should the taxpayer foot the bill?

  3. I for one find it interesting that the Republicans control the House, Senate, and the White House but they refuse to stand up and put their foot down against the opposition.  It may have something to do with the Washington mindset and culture.  The trouble is these politicians go to Washington and live there too long.  They get confused and think they need the media’s approval.  It’s too early to know what’s gonna happen in 2008 but the 2006 election could get very very interesting.  We get to see some of these career politicians be held accountable by Joe Public.  I just hope that Republicans are replaced by Republicans and not Democrats!

Why do the Republicans feel they have to sneak immigration changes past the Liberal Democrats?  Why must Bush cave into the liberals so frequently?  I voted for Bush 2004 because I thought he would go kick ass and take names.  I long for a new Ronald Reagan.  But GW turned out to be a lot like his father.  Conservative Foreign Policy and Moderate Liberal Domestic.  I feel Bush should just stand his ground and fight back.  He should push a conservative agenda down the throats of the liberals.  He should unite the Republicans by meeting with as many as he can and send out Cheney and other strong conservatives to rally them together.  Say things like, “Come on guys!  We are winning here”!

But the reality is that I had a choice between John Kerry and George W. Bush and that was no choice at all.  I certainly could never have voted for John Kerry.  He represented all that I stand against, voting for John Kerry would have been just like voting for Ted Kennedy!  Voting for Al Gore would have been like voting for Howard Dean.  Very very glad that Al Gore did not win in 2000.  No telling what would have happened after 9/11 if he were in charge.  And what is to happen if Hillary runs in 2008?  I can only hope that people can see through her mask, she is a hard left socialist.  I know a lot of Democrats that would never vote for her so that eases my worry.

I am so weary of the pussification of the American male.  Let’s hope a real bulldog Republican candidate steps forward in 2008.  A real General George S. Patton type.

  4. Hello conservative whackos,

Do you eat fruits and vegetables often? Do you drink orange juice? Do you eat meat? Who do you think picks these fruits from the trees, picks carrots from the ground, and cuts the cows into steaks?

For the most part, these jobs are taken by illegal immigrants. If you guys are gung-ho about kicking them out, you better start saving money to pay extra for your food.

  5. Hello YoungDogFellater. Thank you finger for taking the time and trouble to join the site just to start your first post with an ad hominem attack. You negated whatever argument you might have had with the rest of your post by starting out that way. This isn’t DU, ya know.

Discussion is welcomed here as are differing points of view. It usually makes for the most interesting threads. Just be polite about it. While you may expect your post to be deleted, I’m willing to bet that it won’t be deleted. This isn’t DailyKos either.

To address what I perceive as your point: I’d rather pay a few cents more for my food than have the local hospitals and schools close because they can’t afford to keep supplying “free” services to the illegal alien horde.

  6. Ah young puppy boy doesn’t get it.  All those people on welfare and state aid will do the work when their aid is cut off.  The only people entitled for state aid should be the disabled and the elderly.  Those that can work should be required to do so.  Somehow the poor manage to feed themselves in other parts of the world without anyones help.  This does not mean that we are heartless monsters.  Of course there are exceptions to this line of thought.  There are horrible living conditions and genocide along with refugee camps in third world countries.  This is not a result of making the people work it is the result of hatred and persecution.  We live in the most free country in the world, that sort of thing will simply not be tolerated here.  Also there could be legal immigrant migratory labor.  I have no problem with immigrants coming to work the fields and farms, however they should all be documented and legal and they should be paid a fair wage.  I believe we should go after the farmers and other employers who knowingly hire the illegal workers in the first place.  Sure the farmers have no money but that is mostly due to government interference in the market.  For the last 30 years the Democrats have completely screwed up the agriculture structure in this country.  It’s time to straighten it out.  It’s not like America’s farms are dying we sell and give more produce overseas then any other country.  We also import a great deal of produce.  It is far more complex then the young puppy boy can comprehend with his simplistic incorrect viewpoint.  We cannot continue allowing illegal aliens to so freely enter this country without first being documented and properly processed.  It will harm our economy and the OTM (Other Than Mexicans) could be terrorists.  Remember the terrorist snipers?  The younger one (Lee Malvo) is an illegal alien from Jamaica.

  7. FYI - As many as 48 California hospitals had to close this year alone because they could not afford to operate at a loss.  Much of this loss is caused by treating illegals with no healthcare coverage.  i.e. they are paid below minimum wage and their employer is not paying anything for their healthcare.  Heck, they are not paying taxes either because to do so would alert the authorities to their illegal employment.  I’ve spent 10 hours in an emergency room with an elderly friend who was truly sick and there were all these people looking for basic medical care waiting as well and that was Connecticut.  The long wait was not so much do to with those without medical care as it was due to a large number of trauma cases that night.  The triage nurses have to prioritize treatment, so many of these people have been waiting all day and most of the night just to get an antibiotic.  I talked with a nurse outside having a smoke and she said that it’s normal to have 20-30 people who really don’t need to be in the emergency room hanging around daily.  They simply don’t have a doctor and they have no medical coverage.  The hospital treats them and bills them but unless they are bleeding, having difficulty breathing, or otherwise in dire straits they will have a long long wait.  Of course, the hospital is unable to collect on these bills and that leads to loss and too much loss leads to a closing hospital.

It’s simple economics and finance.  As the NY Times and LA Times subscriptions dwindle and advertising dollars dry up, they too will go out of business.  If they continue to be as Liberal as they are they will continue to bleed readers until they simply go under.  Newspapers make little on subscriptions (paper or online) they make their money selling ads.  If they don’t have the readers then the advertisers are not willing to pay as much.  There have been several major scandals involving the subscription rate being inflated to maintain high advertising dollars.  Some companies have pulled advertising entirely from a newspaper just because of their customers writing them letters stating they will not buy the product if they continue advertising with such a biased newspaper. (now there’s a thought! bloggers could run huge mailing clubs to tell advertisers to stop buying ads for the liberal media) Private money funding media outlets will not last forever.  Take a look at Air America!  They are in deep trouble. The Internet is changing media in a big big way.  Those who are using the Internet are getting a whole lot more information then any other generation.  This is the first time that are large segment of the population is getting exposed to alternate viewpoints from every direction.  After reading a liberal biased article and then reading a conservative blog, one comes away with an eye opening feeling.  When Dan Rather got ripped to shreds over the forged documents, it most likely opened a whole lot of eyes.
