Oh, you mean the “fancy artwork” just under the payload capsule?
Could we be returning to the days of aircraft (and spacecraft) nose art, like back in WWII? Or has that been something that has been ongoing and I have just not been aware of it? I know that sort of thing has been done with ordnance all along.
It wouldn’t make me sad at all if our guys went back to doing that.
If it isn’t the P-40 nose art, its the shape/position of the rocket and the two dark round clouds of smoke. Juvenile, but obvious.
With all the artwork and signs they put on these things, you’d think they would take the next step and sell space for advertisements. “This launch brought to you by Coca-Cola!” “Gatorade, the official soft drink of the NASA gantry team!” How much more American could you get than that?
Darn it! I missed it. I like watching launches.
