I love this!
Being an air force brat in a previous life, I cannot look at planes flying in formation without thinking of the Thunderbirds.
My father was stationed at Hahn AFB close to the French border in Germany and I saw them there for the first time in 1968. I used to love the sound of the sonic booms as they flew overhead. I remember the mesh reinforced glass rattling in our classrooms as the jets screamed across the sky.
Thunderbirds, Blue Angels - they make my heart pound with excitement!
Thanks Skipper, for a trip down memory lane!
You don’t see that in Rueters.
Happy to oblige, Melissa! I’m an Air Force brat myself. I first saw the Thunderbirds in 1956 at Tyndall AFB where my dad was stationed at the time. I used to love going to all those open air shows they put on occasionally. People used to crowd out to the base to look at all the new hardware and watch the Thunderbirds in action. I was about knee-high to a grasshopper back then and I had the time of my life.
Great picture
