  1. God’s Country and quite possibly the most beautiful place on earth. . .

Only place I know that you can stand on a Glacier in shorts during the summer.

Man I miss Montana - but I’m sure now that the Hollyweird types have invaded, it is not the Montana I remember. . .

    Sad

  2. Somewhere in my stack of undigitized stuff I have a picture from a few feet from that exact spot. Mine was taken on a day in August 1990 (right after Saddamn invaded Kuwait) when the lake was absolutely glass-smooth and the mountains are reflected so perfectly that you can almost flip the photo over and have it look the same.

One of these days I got to get all of those negatives converted!!!!

  3. Well if it is still this beautiful then I guess the invasion still hasn’t ruined the area. I haven’t been up these since 1976 - man has it been that long? Time flies when you have 4 kids underfoot.

My brother was the photog - I just wish that I could get hold of his pictures from there. I have a bunch taken when he was actually studying photography - great human interests in black and white. He was the one who saw life as an adventure and went after it whole hog - guess that’s why he died young. But I bet he had some wonderful pictures from Montana - I know he went out among the mountain goats once - and I think an elk herd. As I said - he went after things whole hog.

Guess when we hit the lottery I must drag my family up there, so that they can see what Heaven is like.

BTW, that water is about 30 degrees colder than frozen - it was always so crystal clear and inviting and you froze solid in about 2 seconds - great fun for kids but really weeds the hardy from the weak!

  5. Yeah I know, I use to love fishing. I’ve always been one who appreciate the peacefullness of solitary pursuits. Love to read, ride horses and garden. Relaxes your soul and brings peace, and quiet back into your life.

When I win the lottery - we’ll all go fishing!
