  1. Here’s a factoid. In Roman times the Thames was tidal to where London is. Now it’s tidal to eight miles upstream of London. Geologists say that this is because sinking due to the rebound effect. The northern part of the island is rising because the ice from the last ice age is gone. Weight of the ice gone from the northern part, northern part rises, southern part sinks.

    I said it was a factoid. I can’t remember where I read it.

  3. its the one you thought you was going to get, and put in the desert, but you got London bridgesmile , you could find loads of clay smoking pipes around there when the tide was out,
    i think your right there chris, the Thames Barrier is working overtime now, that would sure look good next to you London Bridge in the desert, the Barrier that is, as we need a new one grin
