Here’s a factoid. In Roman times the Thames was tidal to where London is. Now it’s tidal to eight miles upstream of London. Geologists say that this is because sinking due to the rebound effect. The northern part of the island is rising because the ice from the last ice age is gone. Weight of the ice gone from the northern part, northern part rises, southern part sinks.

I believe just upstream is the Tower of London where Cindy Sheehans head would still look good upon a pike!

i think your right there chris, the Thames Barrier is working overtime now, that would sure look good next to you London Bridge in the desert, the Barrier that is, as we need a new one
