  1. Oh for Christ’s sake.  Take pictures of the area and the prints, excavate a few and put them in a museum, and call it done.  Protecting the entire area because of some fossilized footprints from 165 million years ago is madness.

  2. My thoughts exactly. I was going to suggest a bit of funding to dig up 100 yards around, just to check for more, then chip out the prints and take them away. Rather silly to preserve them en situ. I figure that pretty much no matter where you are, dinosaurs walked there once. It’s nothing special. And it’s not a “resource” either.

  3. Bite your tongues gentlemen. Whoever that dinosaur was, he has rights ya know.
    This being England and all.

    PS: The area they were found in, is a well known place for prehistoric fossils and bones etc. Not many ppl live in Dorset, lots downs, woods, generally a beautiful area.

  5. Also—that’s a Meat-o-Saur footprint.  The carnivorous ones have a footprint like a chicken.  Interesting, huh?
