Hi Chris. You’re right of course. I should written “ only losers “ for the reasons you point out. But mostly the kids for certain.
That wording was my lazy mistake, I should have edited.
What happens in the future when they get a real-world job where the boss will actually expect productivity and efficiency and good workers get raises and promotions.
If you don’t learn that winning is better than losing and you don’t learn how to deal with a loss when the loss is relatively cheap how are you going to cope as an alleged adult when you lose for real and it has a significant cost?
In the real world awareness, effort, skill and knowledge will foster success. Success is desirable but has to be worked for with purpose. If your developmental years have been spent being trained that success is “unfair” you have been dealt with dishonestly and have a considerable burden to overcome.
