  3. Yep, always get additional sources. Most decent blogs will provide you a starting set of sources. It’s up to the individual reader to expand on that and get their own.

    Unfortunately most of us are lazy and don’t do that very often, particularly when it’s something that fits our own thoughts and ideas. Why would I try to disprove something that I am predisposed to believing? Quite often I don’t and will only look farther when I see another point of view raised....if I’m still interested.

  4. I can go along with the ball game analogy. I had no particular interest in baseball until I saw an all star game in the 70’s that was one helluva ball game. I got to understand the game more and gained an appreciation for some of the subleties just in time to enjoy the “Big Red Machine” which was coming into its own at the time.

    Even when you have a favorite in a game it is sometimes it’s hard not to cheer or at least appreciate a particularly good play by the opposition.
