  3. I almost posted the same story but from here in the real nanny state. Then changed my mind.
    That’ll teach me.

    A teacher here was demonstrating sled design and something and he allowed a couple of boys to sled down a hill with a sled he brought to school as part of design lecture. AH BUT ...
    FIRST!  He did not get a Risk Assessment. And the poor boys could have been hurt.
    I think he was originally suspended and then argued his case to school. I can’t remember the outcome and it was only last week. No matter, the same dumb rule applies.

  5. Stephen Coonts related a great story in his travelogue book “The Cannibal Queen.” The gist was that he didn’t want to end up at the end of his life drooling into a cup in a nursing home.  He wanted to die in bed with a hot nymphomaniac, shot in the back by her jealous husband. 

    No risk, no reward.
