  4. Severa’s right ... personal computers are more for entertainment these days than for doing any actual work.

    If you take away the games and the picture files you don’t need the graphics, nor do you need the powerful CPUs, giant hard drives, and massive amounts of RAM.

    Even the fastest internet bandwidth is less than half the speed of the data bus on an ancient 1980 IBM PC with an 4Mhz 8088 CPU.

Decisions, decisions.  I run NOD32 on one machine and have had no problems with it.  Tried a trial version of Kapersky on the wife’s machine and have had lots of problems.  Don’t talk about NAV or Macaffe since those are basically a potempkin AV system.  Which ones are are most effective and provide ease of use?

  9. Kirk,I’ve been running Kaspersky IS6 with no problems.I also run Counterspy and Spysweeper.Did you completely uninstall NOD before installing Kaspersky? I know some anti-virus programs are notorious for leaving remnants behind that screw up new programs.
