Uhm, can you say “KARMA”? I knew you could.
I worked for EDS as a contractor from 1994-2001. I guess we were even lower on the totem pole than the regular EDS folk.
They brought in people from all over the planet to work as sysadmins. We had a guy from Bulgaria and one from mainland China..... sometimes it sounded like the UN in there.
Then the financials looked bad and the orders came down to dump all the contract employees. So I was out, just before 9/11…Strangely enough, I worked at a GM site as a vendor’s service rep when EDS first took over GM’s IT department. A fair number of the GM IT people opted to go back into the plant rather than be transfered to EDS. I will say that the “corporate culture” for EDS seemed to have loosened up between the two times.
