Let’s see..... Nixon got rid of Agnew, brought in Jerry Ford, then he resigned, JF completed RMN’s term, then fell to the weak and ineffective, if not well-meaning, Jimmah Carter..
Fast forward 32 years.....
Try this scenario on for size, as I put on my BushCo Halliburton special edition tinfoil hat:
Dick Cheney “resigns” due to “health reasons” (he does have a ticking time bomb in his chest), GWB brings in a REAL and popular Repub as new VP. (Stay with me, I am sure that he can find at least one)
This can branch in one of two ways:
A: GWB completes his term, new Veep wins in 2008. Donks fade into obscurity and terminal lunacy.
OR,
B: GWB resigns, newly minted VP wins US hearts and minds, and then wins in 2008, and 2012. Donks fade back into obscurity and terminal lunacy.
Nice idea, RP, but given W’s choices lately, a new VP will be a turkey, goof up the base, repel the Dhimmies, say something mildly dumb which the media will grab like a terrier (go Hammy!) and blow up all out of proportion, the Dhimmies will run someone who is nasty and diffident for whom the media will roll over like a basset hound and ignore any but the MOST egregious gufaws and we’ll get the meaner nastier Jimmah Cahtah into office for years to come.
Okay, doom and gloom off! That is for the IwannamovetoCanadaslitmywristskilltheotherguysiwantmymoveon.org Dhimmies to indulge in. We adults will review, assess, revise and actually move on.
First, contat your congressional reps and senators - they are your representatives even if you did not vote for them - and tell them to skip the petty revenge of impeachment, hearings, etc etc etc and get on with the business of the nation. Get involved, avoid whining, reject victimization and become part of the process. The rules are made by those who show up. So, show up!
They have to file in freakin’ Germany to try to get Rummy?

Hey all - I like Rat’s idea but I do believe that GWB is more dedicated to his values and people than that. I’m not sure what the Rumsfeld deal was, hopefully with the nomination of Gates, he is sticking it to the screeders with their own sword (given that he is from the ‘panel’ these lunatics insisted on having).
Certainly there is a Republican (in or out of current power) who can put it to Pelosi et al this way - if you leave the administration alone for the next year+ the country survives and you just might win in ‘08 - if you don’t I will let every secret, leaker, plant, dead,felon, illegal voter, terrorist tie-in and $ from Soros out into every media outlet with the corresponding calls, emails, and ‘donations’ to each and every sitting Dem and will keep it going until Nov ‘08. I think one or two would not like it known that they received a ‘donation’ from a terrorist, contacted or was contacted by a terrorist or tried to make a deal with NK, Iran or some other sort of anti-American entity.
I put nothing behind some of the ‘leaders’ of the DNC and I know that they have secrets to hide. While it might not rout them out - it just might pull those conservatives who turned on the GOP out of their stupidity and get everyone back in line. Or maybe just slow down the gloating ‘impeach’ Bush train until it is time to gear up for a new election.
