The Perils Of Socialized Medicine, Part #2

  1. Hillary Clinton and the Democrats are already spreading rumors that they intend to continue to fight for “universal health care”, i.e. socialized medicine. All for one and one for all. Everybody gets healed. One low price.

Except for themselves of course. They get to keep the private doctors and hospitals that are just too good for the unwashed.

Besides, I’m not really sure if this story is about the limitations of socialized medicine or that Mr. Cook is such a cheap bastard that he won’t pay to fix his own teeth!  I wonder what his kids teeth look like?

  2. rudebadger I have to go with the limitations. We are on the government ‘socialized’ medicine (Tricare) and when we moved - it was like we are martins who landed here and are asking to have the best doctor at our beck and call. I can’t get half the appointments my son and I need. My dr. quit this year - so we have no doctor and since it took two months just to get into the door - I’m not in the mood to start again to find another. I am still wrestling with, is it better to drive an hour plus to use a Military facility or to try, try again?

It sucks and a friend of ours who has a child on medicaid (because of her disability) has just as many problems. These are the people this ‘universal’ health care is supposed to help and it is nigh on impossible (at least here) to get into anything.

The local hospital has been great about doing my son’s blood tests - it was the only place I could find. But that is stupid (in my mind).

This will be one reason I will be glad to leave here. Of course the hospital that is suppose to be helping us find local drs. for our son doesn’t do diddly and neither did the local tricare office. Once again the ‘positives’ of universal health care systems.

  3. Although I despise socialised medicine I am going along with Rudebadger. This halfwit is clearly a cheap bastard. £100 or $180 to get a new crown is pretty cheap. Still I expect he is on benefits and has spent the money on fags and beer.

  4. Hey, he is a Brit! Bad teeth are a national duty for Brits, eh wot?
