The opposition!

  1. Well, after showing your supreme ignorance in regards to history, now I am going to have to nail you again:

No ‘loyal’ opposition to the B. Hussein Administration.

    Just plain, pure, opposition.

It depends. Is Obama going to remain loyal to his oath of office and continue the fight?

If not, then outright opposition is called for.

If so, then being a loyal opposition is not only better BUT NECESSARY.

In case you haven’t noticed yet, there are FAR larger problems for the US then Obama. And, while we may loath Obama’s policies, the fact is that he was elected by a sizable majority (the confirmed voter fraud is nowhere near large enough to tip the scales) in accordance with the Constitution.

As such, we, as the minority party, must respect the will of the majority.

That doesn’t mean we won’t be able to bitch and criticize, but it DOES mean that, if Obama follows his oath of office, we will have to support him against the many external threats the republic faces.

Need I remind you that even staunch opponents of the New Deal lined up behind FDR, because they realized that the fate of the nation was at stake, and if the Axis won, there would be NO room for opposition whatsoever?

Time will tell what course we will have to take regarding Obama.

But to outright reject the idea of being a loyal opposition at this early stage seems both juvenile and ill-planned.

Let us remind ourselves that we are not from the KOS.

  2. Actually Christopher. In the Hood that is an expression of positve good as in : Hey man ,that car is Dope.No harm No foul.
Um Turtler, I know you mean well to speak truth to ideals but I am not capable of loyalty to a man who aligns himself with Marxists, urban terrorists and racist men of god. Its just not in me.

  3. Um Turtler, I know you mean well to speak truth to ideals

Thank You (I am going to take that as a compliment).

but I am not capable of loyalty to a man who aligns himself with Marxists, urban terrorists and racist men of god.

And, under normal circumstances, I would wholeheartedly agree with you.

But these are not normal circumstances.

Even under normal circumstances, I would realize he is the legitimate President, and will be until he violates his oath of office or his term expires. I would turn the attack machine on fully boar, yes, but I would still recognize that.

But, with the Jihadists, Chinese, Russians, and Latin American Communist Alliance sowing chaos and death across the globe, I will have to pick the lesser of two evils regardless.

And, like I said, I will have to see how Obama governs before I make the choice on my attitude towards him.

  5. Rich K: I’ll have to take your word on that. But, with all the same stickers that say ‘Hope’ on them, ‘Dope’ means something completely different to me.

But then, I’ve not been a ‘hoodlum’ since I was nine.

To Turtler: Actually, you seem to be extremely ignorant of Obama’s stated policies. While I agree that there are far larger problems than an anti-Constitutional President, I’m having trouble articulating them. With a President who is on record as pretty much loathing the Constitution, because it limits what the Gov’t can do TO us, we will be too busy fighting here at home.

BTW, since when did the liberals:

respect the will of the majority

May I politely point out that homosexuals do not respect the results of Proposition 8 in California?

  6. That’s right, the gays are rioting there...and holding demonstrations across the country against Prop 8. Imagine that.
Now regarding the President-Elect. Since he is a Dirty Fuckin’ Communist, I’ve taken a liking to call him by his Russian transliterative, Бара́к Хусе́йн Оба́ма, or БХО for short. If I went with the patronymic, it’d be Бара́к Бара́кович Оба́ма (Barack Barackovitch).
Dirty Fuckin’ Communist that he is.

  7. He is the President Elect.  He will be the President come 20 January 2009.  As such, I will have to respect and support the office and the man himself - unless…

This doesn’t mean I will accept any screwball or Unconstitutional ideas or legislation.  This doesn’t mean I’m going to abandon my principles.  One of my principles is decency.

I may end up opposing every cotton picking thing the new President and Congress proposes.  But I will do so on grounds of articulate fact and argument, not on grounds of personality or general boorishness.

I don’t want to be misidentified as a liberal Democrat.

  8. Pretty good Archie. Got it pretty close. We have to carefully watch this communist pos for ANY violation of the Constitution, and call his happy ass on it. Check this stuff from Gonzo, here http://gonzosbarandgogogrill.mensnewsdaily.com/2008/11/15/yes-i-do-mean-it/ and here http://gonzosbarandgogogrill.mensnewsdaily.com/2008/11/05/ussa-now-what/

  10. Here we go againnnn....

Actually, you seem to be extremely ignorant of Obama’s stated policies

    I WISH.

The man’s stated policies chill me to the bone. But not as much as the PRACTICED policies of our four main foes. And stated policies can change (see Jefferson, since while Jefferson came from a far more noble background then Obama has, there is the chance he could realize that the world is vastly different at the top then in the Chicago Machine).

With a President who is on record as pretty much loathing the Constitution, because it limits what the Gov’t can do TO us, we will be too busy fighting here at home.

BTW, since when did the liberals: respect the will of the majority

Point taken. But we are not Leftists, now are we? I thought we were actually tied to this country, win or loose, right or wrong. We do not abandon ship like the spoiled brats do.

May I politely point out that MANY homosexuals and non-homosexual leftists do not respect the results of Proposition 8 in California?

    Fixed it for ya.

And yes, you may. But many did. And rightfully so, because while I support Gay Marriage, the idea of having it imposed via government fiat is not something I would welcome, as the Separation of Church and State is not only to protect the State from the Church, but also to protect the Church from the State.

I am pretty much even with Archie, right now. Doesn’t mean I won’t be on him, but it doesn’t mean I intend to go ape on him either.

    Macker:

That’s right, the gays are rioting there

Will you please refrain from making such blanket pronunciations?

The fact is that not all Gays are up in arms over Prop 8 (some I know even supported it), and many non-Gays ARE. So keep it cool.

    cmblake6 and Archie:

I cannot have said it better myself.
