  1. And there were NO videotapes back then, so if a show ran twice a day the performers did TWO separate shows…

  2. TimO .... completely forgot about that. Makes sense though. Unless they filmed which I think (not sure) was some kind of kinescope.  Then play the film in front of a camera.

  3. I believe NTSC is an acronym for “now this sucks conclusively” and also “never twice the same colour” Now that we have HDTV the difference bewteen US picture quality and UK has disappeared but seriously JayD the difference bewteen bog standard 480 line NTSC and 525 line PAL is substantial.

  4. Im told that dogs never saw the picture on ntsc as their vision is too low persistance unlike humans. Yes PAL is way better, I visited the states in 78 and was shocked by the large TVs with huge fat lines.

  5. Chris, Lyndon.  Right. I did notice a difference. The PAL system was better. I think tho that when you watch TV you just get used to what’s available and soon forget. Till you go somewhere else where the difference is big enough to notice.
