Pretty cool.
Explanation: The Cat wasn’t Hungry.
"The Cat wasn’t Hungry”
I came in here to say the same thing. Or the cat was on it’s way to one of it’s naps. A cat will play with a smaller critter, play enough to injure or kill it. That this cat didn’t makes me think it had a more attractive activity upcoming.
Well fed domesticated (and particularly older) cats just don’t tend to play as much, they turn into furry meatloaves that lounge around all day, usually sleeping. The reaction to a mouse goes from “A mouse! Kill it! *pounce*” to “Oh look, a furry squeaky thing… Do you have cat food to give me? No? Okay, I’ll go take a nap now. That’s enough excitement for one day.”
If this is a cat that was hungry and younger, and fled the squeaky mouse, then I’m revoking its feline card immediately!
