  1. At the top of the story link was the headline:

PETER JENNINGS DIAGNOSED WITH LUNG CANCER

How about we take a poll on his medical care?

  2. Even with that new Zogby poll, there are still way too many moonbats out there who believe starving Terri to death was acceptable.  In fact, at a dinner last Friday night, I got into an argument with a guy sitting next to me about this.  When I called Michael Schiavo an adulterer, the guy said “no he’s not. What’s he supposed to do after all these years.” When I said “get a divorce and hand over custody to the parents,” all he could say was that the case was decided by 19 courts, etc.  To that, I responded that Shitfaces lawyers contributed to Greer’s election campaign, and he had nothing more to say.

  3. Lisa, let’s never also forget that this bunch of people who say, “I wouldn’t want to live like that” seem to think that they and they alone speak for everyone else.  Just because they feel that way then everyone should, too, including Terri.

Her desire to die like that was NEVER established beyond a shadow of a doubt.  You had several people say she wanted her life not to be prolonged.

And riddle me this:  after her death why wasn’t an impartial medical examiner allowed at her autopsy?  Why was the family kept away?  Why didn’t Michael have the decency to allow the family a Catholic funeral with the body prior to cremation?  Why didn’t he have the decency to honor their request for a lock of her hair?  What harm could come from that?

  4. Answer to riddle:  Because he’s a prick.  As much as I despise people filing lawsuits for idiotic and inane purposes, I feel the Schindlers need to file a massive wrongful death suit against dickweed, his lawyers, the judge, and anyone else who forced Terri’s death.  I’m sure it would be summarily rejected, but if it wasn’t, it would probably come before many of the same courts that upheld the decision to kill her (on appeals).  I would be very interested to see how those same courts would handle it.  Would they uphold the suit after they upheld the reason for it?  That would be ironic as hell.

  5. After the many phony polls during the Presidential campaign, why are we astounded at more fake polls? And why is Zogby now releasing this? Frankly, what the MSM ISN’T saying about the whole appalling mess that was the Terri Schiavo case would fill two books and have decent people wondering if they were in the USSR.

  6. Lisa, that brings to mind an exchange between a caller and host of a radio talk show last week.  The caller was arguing for Terri’s death, defending the husband, and the host was arguing for her right to live.  When the host got around to suggesting that Michael should have divorced her and gotten on with his life, allowing her family to care for her, the caller said, “She can’t divorce him because she has to agree to it; and she can’t speak for herself.”...but it’s OK to kill her for the same reason… The irony and total lack of logic in the caller’s statement floored me.

The other “reasoning” I kept hearing from the “Let’s kill her” crowd was, “It’s a personal/family matter.  The State (aside from the almighty judiciary) has no business getting involved.” Oh, Really?  Wife beating/spousal abuse, child abuse?  Those are personal, family matters, yet the State cleary intervenes on a regular basis in such matters.  What about the islamowhackos who, in the interests of multi-culturalism, think it is their right to share with the rest of us such time-honored practices and traditions as female circumcision and honor killings?  They will tell you that these are just personal, family matters, too.  The guy in the UK that hacked another guy to death in the street last week...isn’t that what he said?

  7. I wonder what the numbers would have been had the people who responded to the poll read the affidavits of the two nurses who looked after Terri in the 90’s.

Oh, wait, acording to Allan those don’t exist and neither do the nurses who I saw on Fox about three times. Damn, when are Vilmar and I going to stop these lies!

OCM, I don’t know who’s getting the movie money but apparently the poor victim Mike has been offered a multi-million $ book deal.

  8. I’m not so sure that “we, as a nation” did this. Michael wanted a dead first wife, and mow she’s dead. To kill her, Michael had the benefit of:
    1. An incompetent, paid-for judge - George Greer
    2. An obscene buffoon of a lawyer - George Felos
3 A neurosurgeon who is an advocate of physician-assisted suicide, past president of the Hemlock Society, and an advocate of starving Alzheimer’s patients - Ronald Cranford.
    4. Judges who would rather use this case to score cheap political points off of George Bush. This is what brought about her execution.
