In other words, BILL CLINTON made this problem worse. That’s what it all boils down to.
All the Cubans should need to remember: Elian Gonzales… Janet Reno… Slick Willie…
What should we do? Build a friggin wall the entire length of the Southern border. Continue to accept Cubans for political asylum.
First, enforce existing laws and secure our borders from criminals (illegal aliens)then worry about reform.
To see what must be done go to; http://www.numbersusa.com, http://www.minutemanhq.com and Representative Tom Tancredo web site.
I agree with Ztucka in principle, but I doubt if a wall will help us very much over the long haul. The Roman and Chinese experiences come to mind, not to mention the Maginot Line and even the Berlin Wall. Remember Patton? “Fixed defenses are monuments to the stupidity of man?”
Instead of trying to swat individual hornets, it is better to smoke out their nest.
THe MAginot line had ends which could simply be maneuvered around. Perhaps a Great Mexican Wall should start in the ocean waters off Brownsville, TX, and continue uninterrupted to the waters of the San Ysidro, CA coast.
Machinegun towers, minefields, roving packs of rabid pitbulls and hungry gators and sharks optional…
give it two years and these fuckers will be telling you how they built your country, in realty they are sucking you dry,

OLDCATMAN,
I agree about Tom Tancredo. I had the oportunity to meet him while I was one of the orignal Minutemen on the Arizona/Mexico border last April.
OCM,
You asked if I personally nabbed any illegals.
The SOP of the Mimuteman Project prohibits contact of any kind because of the probability of being sued by the Mexican Government and ACLU allies. They were very busy trying to provoke an incident.
However, on April 7th, myself and three others spotted eight illegal aliens bushed-up just inside the Coronado National Forest off fry road. (That is about 10 miles South of Sierra Vista, Arizona, West of Hwy 92.) We called Border Patrol and they had an Agent with a dog there within about three minutes. Before he got them out of the brush, his back-up arrived and the illegals were placed into custody. Everything was done professionally. Since I had committed to 30-days, I remained at my assigned site until the end of April and assisted others with phone/radio relays to Border Patrol or our Headquarters. I even got to volunteer for guard duty. Fun was had by all!
Prior to the MMP, the popular claim was that the flow of illegals was just too overwhelming and the borders could not be secured. In approximately 10-days that claim was proven wrong when the flow was effectivally stopped in our sectors.
The accomplished objective of MMP was to point out the fact that our elected officials were and are not doing their job to secure our borders from criminal invasion.
