  1. Oy.  May you have good HOT water in short order.  Keeping my fingers crossed for you both.

  2. Wouldn’t it be cheaper to wait for global warming to provide you with ample hot water?

I have an old rattle-trap gas water heater that will need replacing soon.  But, my gas bill in July was only $12—and the only other thing that uses gas is the furnace.  It does not take a mental giant to figure out that spending $500 for a new one that gave me free hot water would be foolish.

  3. You need to find yourself a Drew over there Peiper. All the smart folk here have one,,,at least in NJ.

  4. Peiper is expanding my cursing horizons.

From now on, I am going to call every half-baked, misbegotten mismash an “English Rig”. Or I’ll use the slightly more PC term of “Anglo-Engineering”.

Holy cow. Hoses out the window. Turn off the water and it jams the pipes. Fill the tank from the faucet out back.

And that’s the damnedest looking, most microscopic hot water heater I’ve ever seen. We live in a condo, and ours is small at a mere 50 gallons. That one looks to be about 10.

    Yup. That’s Anglo-Engineering alright.

120 litres or 31 US gallons by the looks of it.
