  1. OCM -
From what I can see (and I’m the young whippersnapper at 28 soooo please correct me if I’m wrong *s*) Mother Nature “pissed-off-nesss” occurs anywhere.

Take my home state of KY for instance.
Rain, the occasional snowflakes during the Derby (first Sat in May), tornados and your every-once-in-a-while earthquake…

Or there’s where we are now, Maine.
Kids go to school with roughly a foot of snow on the ground, noreasters, and just this past week the remnants of Cindy meant the temps didn’t creep up past 65. IT’S JULY FOR PETE’S SAKE!

    Skipper-
Damn *hug* hope you hear from your son soon. Still haven’t heard from my sis either.

  2. Prayers for Sean-the “good” son. wink
Seriously-I’d like to set him up with Jen(U2Warrior for those who don’t know)-she needs to find a good lad.
Hey Florida-send some of that rain to the upper-midwest. We’re in the throes of a droute and could really use it.

  3. Hope Sean is safe...........
Severa - I for one love the Maine weather!!  Growing up on the coast of R.I., if the temp hit 85 for several days we had a heat wave!!!!!!!!  I remember vacationing one 4th of July in Maine & we had to wear double sweatshirts because it was so cold!!!!!!!  I am going to be up there Sept 11-15..........

Barb - according to the weather, if Dennis follows the track they think it will we may get rain midweek - we sure do need it!

Allan - thanks for the avatar!!!!!!!!

  5. Allan - I just went into the Photo Gallery & wanted to make a comment about the 3 photos of the Sunrise on the Maine coast but was unable...........How do I do that & who took those sunrise pics?  Would love to know...........I took a number of sunrise pics a few years ago in Ogunquit, Maine that were outstanding (even if I do say so myself)........I will be doing sunrises & sunsets on Block Island, R.I. in September & will probably want to post some in the gallery......

  6. Being about 100 miles west of “the cute twerp lady” </Lewis>, I second the motion for the much needed rain.  And by all indications and a look at the latest tracking map...we will be getting the reminets of Dennis.  And may your son get to higher ground ASAP.  (but at that age, didn’t we all think we were indestructable) Still, it doesn’t prevent dads from getting even more grey hairs and worry lines.  Hope all are safe and sound.

  7. Yeah I just talked to my mom, sis and the family made it home safe last night around midnight-ish.

  8. I was complaining about the wind, blowing dirt, and trash today, until I realized…

A West Texas wind has nothing on the storm currently hammering the coast.

All I have to deal with is flying grit, tumbleweeds, and garbage from the burger joint down the street.  They’re dealing with floods, tornados, and wind hard enough to take chairs and tables into the air.

    Yikes.

The weather out here seemed mild after that…
