James Clavell is turning in his grave.
Good grief!
Yummy! Rat-the other other white meat!!
Rats, Kuso beat me to it. Can’t help but think of King Rat.
No reason we don’t eat rat in the USA. Farm raised, well fattened, USDA inspected. I bet they’re a highly efficient livestock too, right up there with chickens.
There are so many possibly tasty animals that we just don’t get here. Goat, sheep, deer, capybera, kangaroo, zebra, camel, etc. Any of which could be farm raised. We barely eat horses and rabbits. The whole rest of the world looks at those critters and says “dinner”, but we go “eeeeewwww”. So spoiled.
I wonder how the Muslims consider rats: halal or haraam...?
No way hosay,
Ingredients: skipers ribs
3 lbs. country style boneless pork ribs
Salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste
1 bottle honey bbq sauce
Worcestershire sauce to taste (approx 3 tbsp)
5 tsp. chili powder
2 1/2 tsp. liquid smoke
24 cans beer
1/8 cup olive oil
Aluminum foil
the last time one of your recipes was up i tried to substitute petrol for liquid smoke, that was after 14 of the main ingredients,WARNING do not put olive oil on burnt people, the fireman did ask me what the hell i was going to do with so much tin foil, and as the fire was out at that point, my idear of a flame proof suite did not go down to well.
At least they burn the hair off… Nothing worse than ruining an evening at my favorite delightfully tacky yet unrefined wing establishment with a mouth full of feathers.
Eating horses? Bwahahahaha. A former coworker and I got into a discusssion about what he does with his old horses. His comment was “I let them roam around the fields.” I asked him was good was a pet you couldn’t eat i.e. flicka fillets, bullet burgers, silver steaks? He didn’t talk to me for months after that.
Uhm, Ya’ll? Slick tailed squirrel is just fine. SERE training teaches you this. Do you have any idea, at all, how many have starved to death in the midst of plenty because “we don’t eat that”? Country rat ain’t nothing but a squirrel with a bald tail. City rat? Just make sure it’s cooked through. Enough Tabasco makes anything good. And this, boys and girls, is why the military is so needed in todays society. NOT, mind you, todays military, but the days of yore.
