  1. I guess the NYTs didn’t get the notice that British are sending 1000 additional troops to Afghanistan.  Read it here: http://thevirtuousrepublic.com/C20070109031553/E20070222222158/index.html

So the British, who have pacified the more homogeneous south of Iraq are shifting their troops to Afghanistan where they are desperately needed.  So much for the Brits abandoning the U.S.

Does the left ever get tired of being wrong?

  2. No relative of John Bull obviously. I am not sure what to make of the troop withdrawal. It is quite complicated. As it is our troops are seriously over stretched and under funded. They drive around in Land Rovers which are totally inadequate and lots of troops have died as a result of roadside bombs. It is a national scandal but the msm chooses to ignore this.

Labour has never been a fan of the military and would rather pay wasters to live on welfare than encourage people to better themselves in the forces. The Labour party was split over the war and Blair has had to rely on the Conservative opposition to get his way. We have had ten years of the socialists running the show in Britain. Bleeding the armed forces of desperately needed cash and equipmment.

We have a resurgent Taliban and as Grumpyguy points out more troops are needed there. We had the easier job as far as policing Basra is concerned compared to Baghdad and eventually we will have to hand over control to the Iraqis. The big problem that remains is Iran. Until we sort them out I doubt we will have peace in Iraq.

  3. Bartle Breese Bull? No way is that a real name, it’s like something out of P.G. Wodehouse. That said, I corroborate LyndonB’s comments.

The main problem on both fronts is the the Coalition forces are baling water out of the boat with a coffee cup, without plugging the hole in the bottom. The terror forces can operate out of neighbouring countries with impunity, and it is reckoned too politically risky to strike their supply lines at source.

They hate us when we are strong, and despise us when we are weak. I’ll settle for being hated.  cool mad

Jim zumbo meet Red ken.we are like super man doing good allover the world and no one thanks us, the msm would love to know what was going on but they dont and so have to make things up, and if any one cant see that they are FUCKING FOOLS.

  5. I dont think it matters if you are in a land rover or humve, we should not be doing these patrols, we should be kicking in doors in the middle of the night, some of the stuff we where doing in Basra was just (Mr nice guy) stupid.
