  1. I understand OCM now.  He thought he was a Liberal but now he has figured out he just likes weed  (weed) and he doesn’t have to be a Liberal anymore so he has left the Democratic Party.  The same people that Governor Jeb Bush calls, “Pathetic”.

These are tough times for former Liberals who are leaving the Democratic Party in droves.  It’s like an awakening of sorts.  Much like when homosexuals figure out that they are not a homosexual and they were really just after other homo’s money.  It’s scary for them at first. doggiestyle

Skipper your compassion with Liberals, by never banning one, enhances your credibility.

I think we should have a poll on the exact day OCM switches to the Republican Party.

I can read OCM like a book.

It’s much like taking candy from a baby, a blind baby.  peace

  3. That gray area is the amygdala.  Information goes in and is processed there and sent to the cerebral cortex - the intellectual center of the brain.  Information is stored in the amygdala as long-term and short-term memory.  During sleep much of this information is churned around and put into some form of memory outlined by metaphor and linear thought. Thoughts come out as words and images.  Not numbers.

I think these scientists short-circuited their cerebral cortexes with an overdose of metacognition no doubt exacerbated by too many computer games in childhood.

  4. You can’t tell much from this statement. It could have been made 40 years ago. The ideas certainly are not new.

Capturing the state and design of a given brain probably won’t lead to much. What we call “thought” is never the same twice - we proceed through each day influenced by what woke us up, what clouds pass overhead, car exhaust, ingrown toenails, and how well our boss slept.

In other words the brain and our linked actions are, at every moment, influenced by the entire universe. And that influence package cannot be the same for any two brains.

Study of the brain will help medicine and other sciences. One valuable result will be determining how to increase concentration to aid learning. Just do not expect the classic science-fiction down-load of the mind for use elsewhere.
