This is supposedly the coldest winter SE Texas has had since 2000. It’s supposed to get warmer in Juneau, AK than in Houston TX this week.
We’re getting an arctic blast here in Canada as well, but we’re pretty used to dealing with this. I’ve got the woodstove fired up strong, and my backup heat is an oil furnace, and my hot water uses an oil burner.
I refuse to heat with electric.
Its 50F here in the Pacific Northwest! BTW I seem to recall the UK Met Office stating this would be a mild winter, with temperatures well above average. Last summer they claimed would be a great one for barbecues. It was one of the wettest for years. When they get a short range forecast so spectacularly wrong you do have to wonder about their long term forecasts.
