  1. You know all I have to know about this issue is the God declaring Irsael/Jews his chosen people and that they shall ‘have the land’ and that Hadrian (a Jew hating Roman) created the myth of Palestinians. Enough said.

This has been, is and always will be about God’s children hating each other in the name of man made corruptions of the Word of God. And I can’t believe anyone with a sane mind, sees Israel as the cold, heartless killer of innocents and the Palestinians as innocent victims just sitting around doing nothing to be attacked. Nor anyone else in Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, Iran, Iraq or Saudi Arabia. They are thrive on the victim status because they have the World’s oil, they hate everyone not them and they were nothing but camel jockeys until the super powers controlled the region after discovering the many uses for black gold.

Tragically ironic that our own greed maybe the root cause of ours and Isreal’s distruction - but then even that is foretold in the Bible - ‘For the love of money is the root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith. . .’

Carter wrote this piece of garbage because the accolades from his ‘peace’ win were disappearing and the negative of his debacle with Iran were in the forefront. He wants to curry favor with the very groups that have been laughing behind their backs at this moron - and are now again. It is a shame he prefers that than being admired by his own countrymen.

  2. what else can one expect from scared people who recognize the danger but lack the backbone to defend themselves, their children and their neighbors. these spineless wonders can say what they want to say, but when push comes to shove, they better keep their heads down; they are clearly not on the side of freedom and democracy.

  3. Carter is an asshole and the Angry Left is desperate for a hero

Has there ever been a more cogent and relevant statement which sums up recent history?

    Sad but all too true.

  5. Like a few of you, I lived through the Carter Presidency.  Until then, I’d pretty much been a solid Democrat, not even considering voting for a Republican.  Then came Jimmy Carter.  His presidency was marked by double digit unemployment AND double digit inflation.  Even though the official figures are lower, I believe that inflation in particular hit over 20%.  After 4 years, it was obvious to pretty much every one in the U.S. and abroad that Carter was a useless fool who could not lead and would not follow.  About the closest he came to doing anything useful was brokering the peace agreement between Israel and Egypt.

Anwar Sadat (a Christian btw) paid with his life for making peace.  He was killed by the fathers of the current generation of Islamic terrorists.  Israel kept their end of the bargain and Egypt has too.  Anyone seen any news about Israeli vs. Egyptian problems?  You won’t.  For all their faults, Egypt has about the sanest of all the Islamic governments and the Israelis really do honor their peace agreements - WHEN THE OTHER SIDE HONORS THE AGREEMENT TOO.

One last note, after getting my world view wrenched by Jimmy Carter, I began reevaluating my party of choice.  Ever since Bush Senior, I have been voting a straight Republican ticket.  Congratulations Jimmy, you made a Republican out of me.

  6. After the Nixon debacle (when the MSM really realized their power for the first time) the Dems could have brought in ANYBODY and he would have won. They gave us Carter. Thanks. If I live to be 100 I will never forgive him for his “malaise” speech, giving away the Panama Canal (to the ChiComs no less, the bastard) and his depressive approach. Run away inflation and high unemployment. He’s not just a pussy, he’s a loser too. The only high point to his entire presidency was that photograph of him fishing with his dingus hanging out, that went with the story of the swimming killer rabbit. Lamest president ever. And for what he did to the Shah Mohammed Pavli (which let in the ayatollah assahola and paved the way for modern jihad) MAY HE BURN IN HELLFIRE FOREVER. Jimmah, you mouldy pap smear, shut the hell up and just build them little houses for the po folk. Anything more than that and you’re a bigger fool than Jim Baker. And that’s hard to achieve!

Dr. Jeff, I saw the light a little earlier than you. Voted for Ford the first time around, then John Anderson, after that I pulled the lever for the straight GOP ticket and I’ve been doing it ever since. They’re not always the best candidates, but they’re never the worst candidates. Damn. Elections ought to be a choice between heroes, not an attempt to find the lesser of two weasels.

Of all muslims, Sadat was my favorite since 7th grade. He really did try, and he died for it. He’s the one and only real martyr over there as far as I’m concerned. Fuck all the rest of them.

Ok, a bit much eggnog while putting up the Christmas Tree. God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, and to all a good night!

  7. I have never voted for anybody but a Republican despite being a registered Democrat for many years. (Made the switch a few years ago after getting tired of voting for their biggest dopes in the primaries).

Ronald Reagan got my first vote as did every Republican up and down the ticket.  The Republicans have been riding Ronny’s coattails ever since. There’s a very good possibility if the Republicans don’t get their shit together, I will be voting Libertarian in the future.

  8. Drew, I can’t argue, except that the Libertarians have about zero chance of accomplishing anything significant.  When you consider a 3rd party, consider that without Ross Perot, Bill Clinton would only be the former Governor of Arkansas.

Personally, I think it’s about time I made the official switch and probably do some actual work for the local Republican organization.  Here in Los Angeles, Republicans are sort of rare, but I think I can find some.

Last note - my mistake - Sadat attended a Coptic school, but wasn’t Coptic himself.
