  1. I’d forgotten how gripping Allan’s “The Dead Zone” was.  Thank you, Drew.

Every year, on 9/11 I go back and listen to the FDNY radio traffic from that day.  If anyone else wants to do the same, here’s the link:  http://www.archive.org/details/911_fdny_dispatches

  2. -’Unfortunately, there was no one to take it out on. I was helpless,’- I think that so many people felt that way - we who have been warriors (or married to one) - tended to focus that into a real scenario - OK they committed this totally unexpected act of war upon America - We must retaliate. Sad to say - waaaay too many wanted to just ‘not’ retaliate.

My first thought as the second tower was hit - this is intentional. As I watched the first images from the Pentagon - ‘nuke ‘em til they glow.’

When I got back here to OH - I was amazed when I was describing the difference from the Gulf War (Operation Desert Storm) - we were in KY - it was all yellow ribbons, patriotic songs and a proper hushed tone when you were talking with a wife/mother whose soldier was ‘over there’ and 9/11 - I got up on Wednesday morning and as always walked down to the kitchen and opened the blinds to watch for the buses - there was a deuce and half with the back open and filled with soldiers with their rifles. It was war - and in 2004 - a civilian who had the luxury of life in middle class America (OH) had not a clue what I was talking about and could not understand the difference I was describing because sadly her life had never changed with either Desert Storm or OEF/OIF. What is sadder still is that even with 9/11 - I’d realized then that it hadn’t changed - the clueless remained clueless. I sent my son’s picture into MSNBC (yes I was truly an innocent back then) for their segment on Americans in Service which probably lasted less than a month - I stopped watching MSNBC then - I’d realized if they can’t even last a month - are they truly supporting the Troops.

On 9/11 I put in VHS tapes and just let them run - sadly did not start until about 10am - and they were from CNN (how indoctrinated is that? All the military hospital & office tvs are tuned to CNN) and NBC - but from 10AM until about 8PM (3 tapes) I have the words and images of 9/11. Last night History Channel ran a special - 9/11 State of Emergency - the re-enactments were a tad hokey but the people and their thoughts (12) were good. There is also going to be - 102 minutes that changed the world - but I find it very sad that just a quick perusal of what channels we have on our guide (leaving aside most liberal ones have long since been deleted) I do not see much available on 9/11 retrospective or memorials. As I said it hasn’t changed the clueless remain clueless.

Now the only difference is that those of us who have pursued information realize that we have been intentionally lied to, intentionally information is distorted and of course the true agenda behind it all has become painfully clear. To destroy America.

Allan’s piece is remarkable - it is what attracted me here to BMEWS and reminds me of the depth of his ability to communicate. Thanks for this posting.

  3. In April of ‘95, our senior year HS class went on our traditional week-long field trip of NYC and DC. To this day, I can still remember the view from the South Tower indoor observation deck. I also still have my ticket stub from that visit. I’ve saved that and newspapers/magazines from that week so I can teach my sons, ages 11 and 13, about that awful day. I’m almost positive that the schools won’t teach it, so I’ll just do it myself.

I’m with OCT, I also have a difficult time watching any videos from that day. Just remembering it is enough for me. We were in VA Beach at the time as my husband was in the Navy. I spent that whole horrible day wondering if he was going to be sent out to war (he wasn’t sent out, thank goodness, not that he didn’t WANT to go kick ass and take names, of course)

  4. I really miss Allan, and for once I agree with OCM, I remember just after the atrocity someone posted pics of a hunting trip with the koran as toilet paper and targets etc they gave map refrences to their camp, I wonder if any muslims sought them out? we should all burn a koran, or a muslim or 2.

  5. Chris, I believe that post was from Macker. I’ve been scouring my old computers, without success so far, for the post. Funny as hell!

  6. I watched two specials on Thursday on 9/11 - while I agree to a bit - it is very hard to watch them - after the tears are done - I again feel that righteous anger and am reset again to keep on keeping on until the muslims are gone or completely understand - stay put and don’t come mess with US.

In one of the specials (I think it was The Man Who Predicted 9/11) - a woman said ‘...after I got out of the building, I turned around and you could see people jumping out of the windows and I thought - what would make someone willing to jump 89 floors up to land on concrete and then I realized - They knew they were going to die...’

As Darryl Worley wrote - Have You Forgotten. . .We had neighbors still inside going thru a living hell. . .

And while you are remembering the 2997 Americans who perished that day - please don’t forget to remember my son and every single US Armed Forces who are currently in the GWOT right now and of course the 5668 who have perished fighting it.

  7. Oh yeah I forgot - you know what was really startling to me after 9/11? I was casually watching Godspell one day - and there they were singing and dancing atop a brand new building in NYC - The Twin Towers (actually still being built - you can see scaffolding). I was so taken aback - most especially when they pulled away and you could see them standing. I did not think it would ever matter to see them standing in an old movie - but it really did - it was shocking.
