Not to be persnickety, but Benjamin Cardoza was the first latino Supreme Court justice.
She is a crazy leftie radical. No way should she be a judge. Especially with her courts make policy attitude. She’s Hispanic… BFD. She’s woman...BBFD. Playing the race and the sexist card. You are pathetic and weak Mr. President.
Full marks for Adagio there! Now all we have to do is remind the media of that, and convince them that you can still be a Latino even if your family is Jewish from England. Latino is forever, right? So if he forebears skipped out on Iberia during the Inquisition, they don’t leave their membership cards behind.
Benjamin Nathan Cardozo, SCOTUS, 1932-1938. He was a Democrat, appointed to the court by President Hoover, a Republican. Appointed because of his knowledge and skill with the law, not because of his gender, sexual alignment, political affiliation, or ethnic background.
Here is a personal story that really hits it where the liberals can’t seem to go - I was left (mom did not even bother to let the screen door hit her on the way out) at a UnWed Mothers Home (that was the alternative for abortion you leftist trolls out there) - basically dead - which meant that I spent the first 2.5 years of my life strolling between hospitals, convalescent homes and foster care. Then alas God smiled upon me & I got a home with a crazy woman who hated me and a doctor and 4 older siblings. Live went on - I got the life-saving surgery that made me not be a dying kid, my doctor dad dropped dead in front of me at 13, I was raped at 17, had 5 babies the doctors said I’d never have (and is it any wonder why I dislike drs so much?!?) and yada, yada, yada - married a batterer, became an addictive personality (only did script drugs once for a couple years - booze was so much easier and available). And life goes on. When I returned to the US the second time (1989) I stumbled upon one of those Earth Mother touchy feelly magazines that was describing a new phenomenon - the Dysfunctional Family - long story short I did some research, during one particularly bad day I realized that the venomous anger was not toward my mom (although since she is stilling kicking and still crazy after 93 years, she is such an easy target) - but rather toward my dad who did absolutely nothing to keep us safe and get us away from her or her away from us. My addictions and the insane behavior that went with them were gone, literally almost immediately. And other than smoking again (daughter car accident which I was able to get on sight for and son’s burn injury - so a 7 year relapse there).
Moral - Simply voice what p*sses you off (don’t even have to do it to a living person), because once you say it aloud - it starts to lose the power and control. Yes it is hard to deal with people like my mom who continue to throw crap on you and expect to be thanked for it, but I’m at the point of who cares - I’ve tried, she does not listen - it is her problem not mine. And Get On with Life.
I did not hold back Ms Sotomyayor’s parents from grabbing hold of the American dream - obviously since their daughter grabbed it - it can happened to anyone - even the vapidly stupid. So she needs to put aside her personal grievances and do her job. If she can’t do that (which I do believe has been proven, since she was promoted by both Rep & Dem Administrations) - she is not qualified for the position.
I do not know at all nor understand how American voters can elect people whose only goal is to punish all of us (them included) for all the hurts in their life (real and imagined). Get Over It, Treat it, Deal with it, hell even take drugs - Just stop trying to get all of America to pay back you for what ever horror, hurt or pain you suffer or think ‘Your’ people suffered.
