He should stand trial in Iraq. His accusers are not the Swedes, nor the Swiss, nor the Americans, nor the British, nor anyone else in the world, save for one people - his own. While he did, indeed, commit crimes in other nations, the vast depravity of his reign only visited those nations, while it lived in Bagdhad.
And if he is, indeed, assassinated prior to trial, or during the proceedings thereof, I shall shed no tears for him. For ilk such as his, the decency of a trial is a privilege, not a deserved right. It is to the Iraqi people’s credit that they are even willing to grant him a trial, and not summary judgement, delivered by means of the 7.62x39mm Express.
Let the trial go forth, as it is.
