  2. Hey, would someone explain to this VERY casual football watcher how in the hell a player can intercept a pass, fall flat on his face, get up and run 25-or-so yards toward opponent’s 40-yd-line before being tackled ---- and that 40-yd-line being called the new scrimmage point, not the freaking point 25+ yards behind him?????  Huh?
By the by, only 8F “below” in N IL an hour ago!

  3. For once, the game was better than the commercials.

Maybe they should start putting on a half time show too.

  4. When I saw the “Symbol” at halftime all I could think of was Aunt Jamima, am I a racist?

  5. A good game, not great but good. Thank God it wasn’t a blow out or a snorer. The commercials sucked - only one we liked was the blockbuster (I think) mouse commercial cause my hubby and I were laughing so hard - neither one of us has a clue what they were advertising. . .

I can’t comment on the half-time show - haven’t watched them since they stopped being half-time shows and became watch the rocker pretend to rock during the football game crappola ‘show’. . .

Happy Retiree - if a player isn’t touched by a member of the opposing team or step out of bounds - he can get up and keep moving the ball toward his goal.

BTW, was it only me - or did anyone else get a tad bit offended over the black history month comments, ads, references. Last years Stupor Bowl was in Feb but I don’t remember it being so over done.

Oh yeah I forgot two AfricanAmerican coaches this year - beat racism to death (if you are a liberal) because old rich white guys (i.e. conservatives) don’t care about the AfricanAmericans (except they just might want to acknowledge somewhere that it is probably two old rich white guys who own the teams and pay these coaches). Just a little fact that libs love to ignore.

  6. WardMama:
Thanks for the education. Hey, are you BMEWSers aware that the NYTimes is blaming the crappy SBowl ads on --are you sitting down?-- GWBush?  TexasRainmaker has a great post on it.

  7. Yeah but we ALL know it.....it’s all GWBush’s fault! I think by spring the Dems will be able to write of medical exspenses to BDS, LOL!

  8. Uh, pardon me again, but isn’t it a sign of mental illiness to dwell so much on a person or event in one’s life to the point of making it affected by/affecting all other events in your life?

At least way back when I was working in a state mental hospital it was.

But hey the NYTimes is the bringer of all the news that is worth reading loser
    NOT

  9. The game was good but had no MVP so they gave it to Manning.

Counted only one questionable call by the officials but it neither effected the momentum or the outcome of the game. Probably because Grossman played like a chump.

I thought Prince looked like Aunt Jemimah too. I don’t feel guilty about it.

The “Black Theme” was over done. Tony Dungy put it to rest by being a class act.

The NFL product is losing its shine. Maybe its me, but it just doesn’t seem all that exciting anymore.
