  1. I live near an Air Guard Base and get the privilige of driving past their tankers every day as I go home.  It is an amazing testament to freedom and the cost it requires.  Their path to land flies very low right over a corner I turn on and no words capture the coolness of timing it just right to be right on that corner as they fly over. 

    I also live near a police training camp for our region and they are constantly blowing stuff up.  Well, more shooting, but occaisionally they use other things in their exercises.  It isn’t any noisier than when I used to live in town, but it really helps to keep me cognizant of reality.
