Poor Verne!
There was an amazing journey animal movie, however. Remember Disney’s “Incredible Journey?”
Right! I believe stories of animals that return home over hundreds of miles. But why and how do they find people who moved away?
Cats and dogs using GOOGLE search, Mapquest, and Global Positioning devices????
Oink, I think it’s called instinct and love.
Love? For people who left you? And how does the animal know if you moved to Seattle vs. Newark?
Touche’, Oink, I caught myself off base on that one. The homing instinct of animals is unquestionable, but I never heard of any animal finding owners that moved away from the home it knew and accepted as home.
I will observe, however, that the animal can’t really understand that it was deliberately abandoned. All it really knows is that the folks who fed it and cared for it have disappeared, and it wants to find them. The love of animals isn’t the love we know as people, that is, when we know it.
I agree. But, Mothers love their babies, God loves Sinners. They don’t have to love back. Pets are for life. I remember a terrific project to find homes for the animals of dying AIDS patients.
Good for Colorado.
"Free to a Good Home” animals usually end up in labs or...?
grrrrr!
